ROLE OVERVIEW
The Support Engineer Advisor (PSIM) is responsible for deploying, integrating, and supporting the OODA Physical Security Information Management (PSIM) platform for the NEOM Public Safety project and other regional deployments. This role ensures the seamless orchestration of physical security systems including VMS, Physical Access Control Systems, Middleware Technology, IoT devices, and real-time analytics with high availability and resilience, enabling mission-critical operations and centralized situational awareness.
REQUIREMENTS SUMMARY
- Proven expertise in implementing and supporting PSIM platforms for critical infrastructure environments.
- Extensive hands-on expertise in designing, deploying, and managing high-availability (HA) Kubernetes clusters with Docker containerization, including advanced configurations for scalability, failover, and disaster recovery in production-grade environments.
- Demonstrated experience integrating VMS, ACS, IoT security devices, and alarm management systems.
- Proficiency in designing and maintaining API-based middleware solutions for real-time data exchange.
- Skilled in using Prometheus and Grafana for proactive monitoring and visualization of system KPIs.
- Strong technical documentation, UAT support, and client engagement capabilities.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex system issues in a time-sensitive, high-stakes environment.
- Competency in managing Linux-based deployments (Ubuntu, RedHat, Debian) with robust backup and failover processes.
- Hands-on experience with data analytics and visualization platforms, including Elasticsearch, Kibana, and other dashboarding systems, for real-time monitoring, operational intelligence, and performance analysis across complex environments.
ROLE COMPETENCIES & ACTIVITIES
Solution Deployment & Support
- Lead the end-to-end deployment of the PSIM platform across NEOM Public Safety and future projects, ensuring compliance with HA design standards.
- Install, configure, and maintain backend and frontend components for mission-critical operations using Kubernetes, Docker, and Helm.
- Perform system validations, health checks, and proactive troubleshooting to ensure consistent platform performance and uptime.
- Support upgrades, patches, and scalability enhancements in coordination with engineering and DevOps teams.
Integration & Middleware Management
- Design and implement real-time integrations between PSIM and third-party subsystems such as VMS (Dahua, Milestone, Hikvision), ACS (Lenel, Dahua), fire alarm systems, and IoT-based security sensors.
- Maintain and enhance API-driven middleware to support secure, high-speed communication between OODA and external systems.
- Conduct rigorous API testing and produce technical documentation to ensure smooth data exchange for alarms, live video streams, and event updates.
Infrastructure & Monitoring
- Architect and manage Kubernetes-based infrastructure tailored for physical security operations with high availability and disaster recovery readiness.
- Implement monitoring dashboards with Prometheus and Grafana to track system health, performance, and KPIs in real time.
- Maintain backup policies, snapshots, and failover protocols to safeguard operational data and meet SLA requirements.
Client Engagement & Training
- Act as the primary technical liaison with NEOM stakeholders and other project clients to translate operational requirements into robust technical solutions.
- Conduct training workshops for client administrators, CCC teams, and technical operators to ensure efficient platform usage and incident response workflows.
- Prepare and maintain HLD, LLD, ICD, SOPs, and UAT documentation, ensuring alignment with project objectives and compliance requirements.
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
- Collaborate closely with internal DevOps, infrastructure, engineering, and operations teams to ensure successful PSIM maintenance, deployments and integrations.
- Provide continuous feedback for system enhancements to improve operational performance and client satisfaction.
- Support process optimization efforts and knowledge transfer for future NEOM and regional deployments.
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in deploying and supporting PSIM or similar mission-critical platforms.
- Expertise in Kubernetes and Docker for high-availability (HA) clusters, with strong proficiency in managing and integrating Windows-based workloads within hybrid environments.
- Proven track record of integrating VMS, ACS, and IoT devices within large-scale security environments.
- Strong experience with Linux administration, HA configurations, and backup/restore mechanisms.
- Familiarity with modern monitoring, logging, and analytics platforms, such as Elasticsearch, Kibana, Prometheus, and Grafana, for real-time performance tracking and operational insights.
- Excellent client-facing communication and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to work under pressure.
Qualifications:
- Minimum bachelor's degree in computer science, IT, Electronics, Communications, or a related field.
- Relevant technical certifications in Kubernetes, Docker, or Cloud technologies are preferred; certifications in physical security systems (e.g., PSIM, VMS, or ACS platforms) will be considered an added advantage.
- Security or networking credentials (e.g., CCNA, PSP, ASIS) considered an asset.
