Job Description: Agricultural Engineer/specialist
Job Overview:
The Agricultural Engineer/specialist is responsible for plant maintenance, fertilizers, irrigation, and drainage related to agricultural work.
Education: Bachelor degree in Agricultural Engineering or relevant field.
Experience: 7- 10 years experience in agricultural systems, irrigation, drainage, and soil management preferable 5 years in KSA.
Key roles:
- Supervise different irrigation systems (e.g., surface irrigation, sprinklers, pivot irrigation, or localized irrigation) for ensuring optimal water usage and crop health. To ensure that the existing plants receiving the required amount of water and the fertilizers.
- Studying the characteristics and components of agricultural land and soil, irrigation and drainage networks and apply solutions for better performance and water consumption if needed.
- Determining the appropriate agricultural machinery for performing agricultural tasks and enhancing their usage.
- Prepares specialized documents and reports detailing the results of work activities.
- Supervise installation any relevant irrigation / drainage system and performing the required maintenance on time and evaluate the efficiency of irrigation systems and implement improvements.
- Identify and recommend suitable agricultural machinery such as plowing, planting, spraying, harvesting, and grinding machines and supervise the installation and maintenance of systems and machinery on-site.
- Propose improvements in work methods and practices to increase productivity, sustainability.
- Preparing detailed reports and technical documents on the findings and progress of agricultural tasks.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in design software for irrigation systems (e.g., AutoCAD).
- Knowledge of agricultural machinery and their operations.
- Understanding of soil science, plant nutrition, and crop management.
- Ability to analyze complex agricultural issues and develop innovative solutions.
- Strong communication skills for preparing reports and presenting findings.
- Leadership: Ability to lead teams and supervise the installation of agricultural systems and equipment.
