Agricultural Project Manager (Palm Care, Pest Control & Agricultural Services)
Job Purpose
To lead and manage agricultural service projects including palm tree care, pest control operations, crop health monitoring, and other agriculture-related service activities. The role ensures projects are delivered on time, within budget, and according to quality and environmental standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Planning & Management
- Develop project plans, budgets, timelines, and resource allocations.
- Monitor project progress and ensure adherence to deliverables.
- Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies.
- Coordinate with internal teams, clients, suppliers, and external stakeholders.
2. Agricultural Operations Oversight
- Oversee palm tree care programs including irrigation, fertilization, pruning, and health monitoring.
- Manage Integrated Pest Management (IPM) programs for palms and other crops.
- Supervise pest control treatment schedules, field inspections, and application processes.
- Conduct regular site visits to assess plant health, disease outbreaks, and treatment effectiveness.
- Ensure proper documentation of field data and treatment results.
3. Monitoring, Reporting & Compliance
- Develop KPIs for project performance (infection levels, treatment success, service quality).
- Prepare weekly and monthly project progress reports for management and clients.
- Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations.
- Maintain accurate records related to pesticide usage and field activities.
4. Team Leadership
- Lead teams of agricultural engineers, pest control technicians, and field workers.
- Provide training on IPM, safe pesticide handling, and agricultural best practices.
- Allocate tasks, monitor performance, and ensure high standards of execution.
5. Budget & Contract Management
- Manage project budgets and cost controls.
- Review and approve purchase orders related to agricultural inputs (pesticides, fertilizers, equipment).
- Work with vendors and contractors to secure competitive pricing and quality service delivery.
- Assist in preparing proposals and tenders for new agricultural service contracts.
6. Client & Stakeholder Communication
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients during project execution.
- Address client concerns and ensure satisfaction with service quality.
- Present technical findings and project updates in a clear and professional manner.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Plant Science, Entomology, Plant Protection, or related field.
- Minimum 57 years of experience in agricultural service management, palm care, or pest control service projects.
- Proven experience in:
- Palm tree health management
- Integrated Pest Management (IPM)
- Crop disease and pest diagnostics
- Field operations management
- Strong knowledge of fertilizers, pesticides, irrigation systems, and plant nutrition.
- Experience leading field teams and managing multi-site agricultural projects.
- Strong reporting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
