To supervise the day-to-day operations of the Agro Laboratory, ensuring accurate and timely processing of soil, plant tissue, water, and potato quality samples. The role supports the Agro Lab Engineer in maintaining lab standards, equipment, and testing schedules.
RESPONSIBILITIES- Supervise daily lab activities and ensure smooth workflow.
- Assign tasks to lab technicians and monitor progress.
- Ensure all lab tests are performed according to SOPs and quality standards.
- Oversee the preparation and processing of soil, tissue, water, and potato samples.
- Ensure proper labeling, tracking, and storage of samples.
- Conduct routine lab tests as needed (pH, EC, moisture, specific gravity, etc.).
- Ensure lab equipment is clean, calibrated, and ready for use.
- Monitor lab supplies inventory and initiate reordering when needed.
- Report any equipment malfunctions to the Agro Lab Engineer.
- Ensure accurate recording of all test results in lab databases and logs.
- Prepare and submit daily/weekly lab activity reports to the Agro Lab Engineer.
- Maintain organized records for audit and traceability.
- Implement and monitor QC/QA procedures for lab tests.
- Identify and correct any deviations or errors in testing.
- Train and guide lab technicians on procedures and equipment use.
- Ensure team adherence to safety and hygiene protocols.
REQUIREMENTS- Academic and Professional Qualifications
- · Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Agricultural Science, Chemistry, Food Science, or related field.

- Work Experience
- · 3+ years of experience in agricultural lab analysis.
- · Experience with potato crops is preferred.
- Skills and Competencies
- · Proficiency in soil, tissue, and potato quality testing methods.
