Job Description
About the Role
At Stella Stays, AI is changing the way we work.
But we're not interested in using AI just to write emails faster or summarize meetings.
We want to rethink how work gets done.
So we're hiring an AI Builder.
Your job is simple:
Find important problems across Stella. Build dramatically better ways to solve them.
You might spend one week with Finance, the next with Operations, and the next looking at Guest Experience, Revenue or People.
You'll sit with teams, understand how the work actually happens, find the friction, and ask:
Does this still need to be done this way
Then you build.
What You'll Do
You'll work across Stella to identify high-value problems and turn them into better systems, workflows and tools.
That could mean:
• Taking a Finance process that takes six hours every week and reducing it to ten minutes.
• Building an AI agent to handle part of an operational workflow.
• Connecting systems so information moves automatically instead of being copied between spreadsheets.
• Building an internal tool in a few days rather than waiting months for a software project.
• Automatically analyzing thousands of guest conversations and surfacing the issues that actually matter.
• Redesigning a process completely because AI has made the old way obsolete.
• Testing new AI products and figuring out whether they can genuinely improve how Stella operates.
Some things you build may take a few hours.
Others could eventually be used across the entire company.
How You'll Work
Business problem first. Technology second.
We don't want someone looking for places to force AI into the company.
We want someone who starts by understanding the problem.
You'll talk to the people doing the work.
Map the process.
Understand why it exists.
Figure out what actually matters. Then decide the best solution.
Sometimes that might be an AI agent. Sometimes automation.
Sometimes a script, dashboard, internal app or API integration.
And sometimes the answer might simply be a much better process.
Who We're Looking For
We care much less about what department you come from than how you think.
You might currently work in engineering, operations, product, finance, consulting, startups or something completely different.
What matters is that you:
• Are an unusually strong problem solver.
• Hate repetitive and unnecessary work.
• Can take a messy, unclear problem and create structure around it.
• Are comfortable sitting with different teams and quickly understanding how their work operates.
• Use AI constantly and are always experimenting with what is newly possible.
• Are comfortable with APIs, automations, data and no-code/low-code tools.
• Can prototype quickly and get a v1 into people's hands.
• You've built things before: an automation, internal tool, agent, script, workflow or something you hacked together to solve a real problem.
You don't need a Computer Science degree. But you need to be able to build.
But when you see a problem, your instinct should be:
I can probably build something to fix this.
How We'll Measure You
Not by how many AI tools you introduce.
Not by how many prompts you write.
We'll care about outcomes:
• Hours of work eliminated.
• Processes automated.
• Mistakes removed.
• Decisions made faster.
• Costs saved.
• Revenue unlocked.
• Better experiences created.
If you build something people actually use every day, that's a win.
If you eliminate something they never need to do again, that's an even bigger one.
Why Stella Stays
We believe AI is changing what a small team of great people can accomplish. We want Stella to be one of the companies that figures out how far that can go.
Most companies are asking their teams to use AI.
We're going one step further. We're hiring people whose job is to rethink the work itself.
If you see a repetitive process and immediately start thinking about how to kill it, we'd like to meet you.
