About the Job

We are seeking a creative, imaginative, and detail-oriented AI Character Designer to create compelling AI-powered digital humans, virtual characters, avatars, and interactive personalities. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing character identities, personalities, behaviors, visual concepts, and interaction styles that deliver engaging and believable user experiences. This is a hands-on role working closely with AI engineers, conversation designers, writers, concept artists, animators, UX designers, and product teams to develop next-generation intelligent digital characters for a wide range of applications.

Responsibilities

Lead the design and development of AI-powered digital characters, virtual humans, avatars, and conversational personalities.

Create character concepts, personalities, backstories, motivations, emotional profiles, and behavioral frameworks.

Collaborate with AI engineers, prompt engineers, writers, and conversation designers to translate creative ideas into intelligent interactive experiences.

Develop character design documents, personality guides, behavioral rules, communication styles, and interaction frameworks.

Work closely with concept artists, 3D artists, animators, and technical teams to ensure visual and behavioral consistency.

Define emotional responses, conversation tone, gestures, and character behaviors across multiple digital platforms.

Research audience expectations, emerging AI technologies, storytelling techniques, and character design methodologies to improve user engagement.

Review prototypes and user feedback to refine character authenticity, consistency, and emotional intelligence.

Support creative workshops, brainstorming sessions, demonstrations, and cross-functional product development activities.

Contribute to the continuous evolution of AI character design standards, documentation, and creative best practices.

Qualifications

Minimum BA/MA in Character Design, Animation, Game Design, Digital Media, Fine Arts, Industrial Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Creative Writing, Computer Science, or a related field; equivalent professional experience will also be considered.

At least 3–5 years of professional experience in character design, game development, animation, digital media, storytelling, UX, or related creative industries.

Strong understanding of character psychology, storytelling, personality design, emotional behavior, and audience engagement.

Experience creating characters for games, animation, film, conversational AI, virtual assistants, XR, or immersive experiences.

Knowledge of AI-powered digital humans, large language models, conversational AI, prompt engineering, or interactive storytelling is highly desirable.

Excellent creativity, visual thinking, communication, and collaboration skills.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with exceptional attention to detail.

Experience working with multidisciplinary teams involving artists, engineers, writers, and designers.

Portfolio demonstrating original character design, storytelling, interactive experiences, or AI-related creative work.

Fluency in English; additional languages are considered an asset.
