Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced AI Conversational Engineer to lead the design, configuration, and optimization of advanced conversational AI solutions, with a strong focus on voicebots.
This is a hybrid role combining AI Engineering, Prompt Engineering, and Conversational Design, supporting the full lifecycle of voicebot development—from concept to deployment and continuous improvement.
The role is part of a major customer experience transformation project, working across:
- Cognigy (NLU + LLM)
- Internal AI Agent Foundry (LLM / AI Agents)
Key Responsibilities
1. Engineering & Integration
- Configure, develop, and deploy voicebots on Cognigy and internal AI platforms
- Integrate NLU/LLM models and manage STT/TTS components
- Ensure seamless API integrations and system interoperability
2. Prompt Engineering
- Design, test, and optimize prompts for high-quality conversational outputs
- Build and refine hybrid NLU + LLM conversational flows
- Ensure consistency, accuracy, and tone alignment across interactions
3. Conversational Design
- Define intents, entities, and user journeys
- Develop conversation guidelines (tone, style, fallback strategies)
- Align conversational experiences with business goals and user needs
4. Testing & Continuous Optimization
- Define and track KPIs such as:
- Intent recognition rate
- Fallback rate
- User satisfaction
- Conduct testing cycles, analyze performance, and continuously improve the solution
5. Collaboration & Stakeholder Management
- Partner with business and technical teams to gather requirements
- Propose tailored AI-driven solutions
- Support deployment, scaling, and production readiness
Required Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in:
- Computer Science
- Artificial Intelligence
- Computational Linguistics
- or related field
Experience
- 3–5+ years of experience deploying chatbots/voicebots in production
- Strong experience with:
- NLU platforms (e.g., Cognigy, Dialogflow, Rasa)
- LLMs (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic, Llama, Mistral)
- Exposure to Agentic AI / AI agents architectures
- Experience with Speech-to-Text (STT) and Text-to-Speech (TTS) technologies
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies
Technical Skills
- Advanced Prompt Engineering (especially hybrid NLU + LLM setups)
- Conversational flow design and optimization
- API integrations and workflow orchestration
- Bot monitoring, analytics, and continuous improvement
Soft Skills
- Strong ownership and proactive mindset
- Excellent communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
