AI-Native Engineering Lead (Full Stack)

Your Role

As an AI-Native Engineering Lead, you will serve as the technical leader for engineering teams, driving both technical excellence and delivery success.

You will remain actively hands-on while leading the design and development of scalable software solutions. During the early stages of projects, you will independently drive technical implementation before building and mentoring a larger engineering team as the project scales.

Working closely with clients, stakeholders, and engineering teams, you will lead technical decision-making while embedding AI-assisted software development into everyday engineering practices.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership & Delivery

Own the technical direction and roadmap for software engineering projects.

Lead architecture design and full-stack solution development.

Provide hands-on coding support and establish engineering best practices.

Conduct architecture and code reviews.

Drive engineering quality through automated testing, CI/CD, monitoring, and observability.

Ensure project timelines, quality standards, and delivery objectives are achieved.

AI-First Engineering Leadership

Champion AI-assisted software development across engineering teams.

Define best practices for AI-assisted coding, testing, documentation, and software delivery.

Establish standards for:Prompt engineeringContext engineeringAI output validationSecure AI coding practicesAI-generated code review

Evaluate emerging AI technologies and recommend practical adoption strategies.

Coach engineering teams on responsible and effective AI usage.

People Leadership

Lead, mentor, and grow high-performing engineering teams.

Provide coaching, technical guidance, and career development.

Manage performance through regular feedback and goal setting.

Foster a collaborative and innovation-driven engineering culture.

Participate in recruitment and team expansion.

Client Engagement & Business Growth

Work closely with clients to understand business requirements and design technical solutions.

Support pre-sales activities including solution design, technical proposals, estimations, and presentations.

Contribute reusable frameworks, engineering assets, and best practices to improve delivery efficiency.

Represent the organisation through technical thought leadership and innovation initiatives.

Requirements

Experience

10+ years of hands-on software engineering experience.

Proven experience leading engineering teams.

Strong expertise in full-stack development.

Preferred technology stack:

Frontend: React.js

Backend: Node.js, Java, or Python

Experience building scalable, secure, and high-performance applications.

Strong understanding of software architecture and design patterns.

Experience working directly with enterprise clients and stakeholders.

Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Demonstrated experience using AI tools in day-to-day software development.

AI Skills

Daily hands-on experience with AI coding assistants such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, or similar tools.

Strong prompt engineering and context engineering skills.

Experience implementing AI-assisted software development workflows.

Ability to review, validate, and improve AI-generated code.

Experience mentoring teams on effective AI adoption.

Nice to Have

Experience with emerging technologies such as Digital Identity, Real-time Payments, Blockchain, Smart Contracts, Quantum Computing, or similar.

Experience with AI/ML platforms and frameworks.

Cloud experience on AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.

Mobile development experience (iOS or Android).

Relevant AI certifications are advantageous.
