Role Purpose : The AI Principal Engineer is responsible for the development of AI solutions as required by company programmes. The incumbent is skilled in different AI domains such as but not limited to ML/DL, CV and NLP, design techniques, processes, and methods inclusive of hardware, firmware and related software. Provide comprehensive smart solutions to complex system/subsystems in alignment with HALCON objectives. Shall be also responsible for the establishment and continued growth of AI development capability.
Key responsibilities
- Expertise in developing, implementing and deploying different robust AI solutions using some techniques such as ML/DL, NLP, CV and other to improve products, services and existing systems/sub-systems.
- Expertise in developing, implementing and deploying real-time CV algorithms and DL models for video analytics and auto-tracking.
- Expertise in developing robust AI solutions that are scalable for manufacturing and practical for real-world application and production environments.
- Expertise in analysing video streams from various sources including cameras, sensors, and drones to extract relevant information for actionable insights and deployment in cutting-edge technologies.
- Advanced Knowledge in the selection, use and application of AI software and hardware.
- Advanced Knowledge in integration of AI solutions into the existing systems/sub-systems, automate processes maintain reliability and scalability.
- Expertise in technical consultant on AI methodology and related software certification requirements
- Mentoring and training of junior technical personnel.
- Strategize with cross-functional teams to unearth and tackle intricate challenges using AI, computer vision, sensor fusion, advanced predictive models and others.
- Creates codes and coding procedures to achieve implementation of AI solutions.
- Expertise in writing technical and non-technical ddocuments and present findings and results to internal and external stakeholders.
- Participate in research and development activities to stay up to date with the latest developments in the different AI fields.
- Generation of risk/progress reports, presentations and initiate proposals of mitigation action.
Experience
- 15+ years of applicable experience in deploying smart AI solutions, ML/DL, and CV in the defense sector.
- Exposure to NLP, robotics, expert systems, sensor fusion, predictive analytics and automation.
Knowledge/Qualification
- Preferable: PhD degree or master's degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Advanced experience with programming and software engineering, AI tools, frameworks and methodology.
- Advanced experience with edge computing and computational power optimization. Training/qualifications in AI-related technologies will be an advantage.
