We are currently seeking a dedicated and motivated individual to join our team as: Airside Manager - Riyadh Saudi Arabia.
Responsibilities
- Ensure that service delivery levels meet or exceed internal objectives as well as targets agreed with airline customers in accordance with individual Service Level Agreements. Ensure strong business relations are built with excellent customer service.
- Deliver cost effective services within agreed budget. Monitor and control costs through effective resource management of staff, equipment and facilities. Continual review and adjustment of expenditure to meet fluctuations in demand to deliver savings against budget and forecasts.
- Ensure the safety of staff, equipment and facilities in accordance with corporate, local and international standards. Promotion of a safety culture within the business unit to continually raise awareness and motivate safe behaviours.
- Continual review and adjustment of the plan to accommodate change.
- Ensure staff are trained and equipped with the resources needed to carry out their duties to the requirements of Swissport Jeddah Airport Operations and the customer airlines. Maintain proficiencies through a programme of refresher training and audit
- Represent Swissport Airside Operations as directed and in line with stakeholders at Jeddah Station in line with consultative committees and with other external bodies. Continuously develop and promote Swissport working relationships.
- Responsible for the formulation of departmental plans. Proactively recommend strategies for the medium to long term (3 years) with contingencies aligned to the overall Swissport strategy. Communicate at all levels the performance of the business unit using all available channels.
- Develop and implement a long-term strategy for manpower needs and succession planning. Create an environment which is conducive to the growth of a national workforce
- Drive innovative solutions through team creativity and ensure a collaborative approach with other Swissport business units within Jeddah Airport Operations.
- Control and track the use of outsourced labour to ensure the most efficient and cost-effective use of in-sourced / outsourced labour
- Planning
- Assist in the preparation of the operating budgets for prior approval by the Station Manager
- Efficient Resource Planning (manpower, equipment) including vacation scheduling
- Ensure compliance with Swissport's standard operating procedures (SOPs) and policies
- Quality Management
- Ensure service levels are achieved
- Maintain close and effective business relationships with customers, and various control authorities such as Airport Management, Customs and Immigration
- Establish strong leadership within all supervisors and ramp employees through excellent communication skills and a positive work environment
- Ensure adherence to QHSE policies and procedures.
- Encourage early reporting of occurrences.
- Act as a role model by demonstrating safe work behaviours.
- Controlling & Reporting
- Monitor and control performance KPIs such as baggage delivery/handling, on time arrivals/departures, etc. and ensure they are within established targets
- Ensure records of all transactions relating to the operation are maintained
- Ensure administrative and control policies and procedures are maintained
- Lead manage and ensure employees comply with company rules and procedures and other authority requirements
- Develop, maintain and own business continuity plans. Responsible for the formulation of departmental plans for short and medium term aligned to the overall organizations strategy.
- Discuss job performance problems with employees to identify causes and issues and to work on resolving problems.
- Evaluate employees job performance and conformance to regulations and recommend appropriate actions.

- Ensure that there are effective planning methods and procedures in place to ensure that there are adequate resources, both manpower and equipment, to meet operational needs
- Implement, maintain and closely supervise all safety and security measures related to people, equipment, facilities and aircraft involved in the operation
- Solves conflicts/irregularities
- Assist in recruitment and assessment of staff liaising with HR and Training departments respectively.
- Participate in meetings internally and externally as may be required
- Develop, implement and monitor the local emergency plan
Qualifications and Competencies
Senior management experience with an international airline or ground handling agency. Effective inter-personal skills, business finance awareness while demonstrating a passion for service excellence. Displaying focus on achieving set targets and improving results.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree from a recognized university, or relevant industry experience with a major airline or ground handling company.

- 3-5 years of managerial experience in the ground handling operations with strong focus on procedural compliance, safety practices and continuous improvement processes
- Extensive & strong Ramp Operations experience is an added advantage
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Highly motivated self-starter, who can effectively prioritize, multi-task and manage to accomplish objectives within prescribed deadlines
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Outstanding communication skills including written, oral, interpersonal and presentation
- Ability to be on call 24/7 for emergencies
- The nature of this position demands discretion, good judgment and prompt, accurate decision-making, as well as the management of complex situations
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft suite of programs, including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel
- Valid driver's license
- Above average ability to work under pressur
