Analog Circuit Simulation QA Engineer

Position Overview

Custom IC (CIC) – Analog Circuit Simulation QA Team is seeking a highly qualified and motivated QA Engineer for a full-time position to join our team in Cairo, Egypt.

This team is responsible for verifying that our analog circuit simulators are making critical advancements in terms of robustness, functionality, performance, and accuracy in the face of fierce competition.

What You'll Be Doing

• Ensure high-quality standards for Siemens EDA analog circuit simulators, including Solido Sim, Eldo, and AFS.
• Define and execute test and quality plans for simulator features and analyses in collaboration with development and marketing teams.
• Develop, execute, and automate validation test cases using analog design languages such as SPICE and Verilog-A.
• Analyze simulator accuracy, functionality, and performance across complex analog and mixed-signal designs, including ADCs, PLLs, SerDes, VCOs, PAs, LNAs, mixers, and high-speed I/Os.
• Monitor, benchmark, and report simulator performance, identifying and investigating performance regressions and optimization opportunities.
• Design innovative test scenarios and customer-based use cases to maximize feature validation and test coverage.
• Investigate, reproduce, and diagnose customer-reported issues, ensuring accurate defect reporting and resolution support for development teams.
• Perform advanced analysis of customer designs and technologies, including designs utilizing leading-edge process nodes.
• Evaluate products against key quality attributes (FURPS), with a strong focus on performance, reliability, and usability.
• Measure and improve test coverage, validation methodologies, and overall product quality processes.
• Collaborate closely with developers and product engineers to qualify new technologies and enhance product capabilities.
• Generate and maintain performance benchmarking data for both internal decision-making and external customer communication.
• Act as an end-user and design engineer advocate by providing feedback and recommendations to improve product functionality and customer experience.
  
  

Knowledge and experience needed:

• B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering with an Excellent or Very Good with Honors degree.
• Experience in analog circuit design and the use of commercial analog simulators.
• Experience in RF analog circuit design and simulation.
• Good knowledge of a broad range of analog circuit simulation analysis types is a plus.
• Good knowledge of RF concepts is a plus.
• Good knowledge of CAD concepts for analog circuit simulators is a plus.
• Experience in writing Verilog-A descriptions is a plus.
• Knowledge of or interest in QA methodology and development tools (version management, defect management, or test coverage) is highly desirable.
• Shell scripting, UNIX knowledge, programming, and development experience are a plus.
• A phenomenal teammate who can work effectively in a worldwide, multi-site development environment.
• Self-motivated and inventive, with the ability to work independently with minimal direction.
• Excellent command of English and strong presentation skills.

The salary range for this position is USD 16,800 to USD 33,600 and this role is eligible to earn incentive compensation.
