Role Overview
Reporting to the Head of M&A and working closely with senior team members, you will play a key role in the origination and execution of domestic and cross-border M&A transactions. Depending on seniority and experience, you will support and/or lead transaction execution, client engagement, financial analyses, and business development initiatives while collaborating with regional and international teams.
Key Responsibilities
Transaction Execution
- Support and/or lead the execution of buy-side and sell-side M&A transactions from origination through to completion.
- Coordinate and manage due diligence processes with legal, accounting, tax, and other professional advisers.
- Assist in the preparation of transaction documentation and support deal negotiations.
- Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely and efficient transaction execution.
Financial Analysis & Valuation
- Prepare and review financial models and valuation analyses, including Trading comparables, Precedent transactions, Discounted Cash Flow (DCF), Leveraged Buyouts (LBO), Synergy analyses, Accretion/Dilution analysis, Internal Rate of Return (IRR), etc
- Provide valuation insights and recommendations to support transaction strategy and client decision-making.
Origination & Business Development
- Conduct company, industry, and market research to support transaction opportunities and client engagements.
- Identify and evaluate potential acquisition targets, divestment opportunities, investors, sellers, and buyers.
- Support and/or lead origination activities, including developing transaction ideas and strategic initiatives for clients.
- Build and maintain relationships with relevant market participants to facilitate cross-border transaction opportunities.
Client Coverage & Advisory
- Support and/or manage day-to-day client and counterparty relationships throughout the transaction lifecycle.
- Contribute to the development of transaction strategies and advise clients on valuation, deal structuring, negotiation strategy, and key commercial considerations.
- Prepare and review client presentations, pitchbooks, teasers, Confidential Information Memorandums (CIMs), management presentations, and other marketing materials.
Team Collaboration & Leadership
- Collaborate closely with colleagues across regional and international offices on transaction execution and client initiatives.
- For VP-level candidates, provide guidance, mentoring, and review support for junior team members, including Analysts and AVPs, to support their professional development and maintain high-quality work standards.
Requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related discipline.
- CFA qualification is preferred but not mandatory.
Experience
- Minimum 3-7 years of experience in M&A, Corporate Finance, Investment Banking, or related fields, with candidates at the VP level demonstrating proven transaction execution and client management capabilities.

- Solid understanding of M&A transaction processes and execution requirements.

- Strong project management and stakeholder management abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Language Requirements
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
- Proficiency in an additional Asian language (Chinese, Bahasa Indonesia, Bahasa Melayu, or Japanese) will be advantageous but is not a prerequisite.
