Job Description

The Anchor Foreman is responsible for overseeing and executing all mooring, anchoring, and barge positioning operations onboard offshore construction bargesincluding both jackup and floating barges. The role ensures safe and efficient anchor handling, barge mobilization, and mooring system integrity in support of offshore construction and marine operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise all activities related to anchor handling during barge mobilization and operations.
  • Prepare anchors, pennant wires, chains, and various types of buoys as required for positioning operations.
  • Ensure accurate deployment and recovery of anchors according to operational plans and site requirements.
  • Coordinate with Barge Foreman, Tug Masters, and Marine Crew for safe and precise barge positioning.
  • Inspect the condition of the barge mooring system, including:
  • Anchor winches
  • Anchor wires
  • Chains
  • Buoys and associated equipment
  • Report all findings, faults, or maintenance needs to the Barge Foreman promptly.
  • Ensure proper lubrication, maintenance, and readiness of all anchorhandling equipment.
  • Enforce strict adherence to offshore safety standards and procedures.
  • Conduct toolbox talks before all critical marine operations.
  • Ensure compliance with company marine procedures and industry best practices.
  • Maintain proper documentation of all anchor-handling activities and equipment inspections.
  • Supervise and guide the deck crew involved in mooring and anchor operations.
  • Provide training and mentorship to junior crew members.
  • Coordinate closely with the Marine Superintendent, Barge Foreman, and Offshore Construction Team.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 1215 years of experience in offshore marine operations within the oil & gas sector.
  • Strong background in offshore construction barges (jackup and floating).
  • Proven experience with anchor handling systems, winches, mooring layouts, and heavy marine equipment.
  • Sound understanding of marine safety protocols and offshore operational standards.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and situational awareness skills.
