This role requires deep operational knowledge, expert incident response management and strong leadership skills. Key Responsibilities:

Operational Excellence

  • Shift Leadership & Oversight: Oversee the daily operational plan, engaging with key stakeholders, ensuring effective communication, and managing incident response to deliver effective and efficient operations in a safe and secure manner. Coach and support duty managers in the delivery of the operational plan, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and effective use of key operational systems and reporting.
  • Incident Management: Coach and advise Duty Managers during crises, ensuring operational resilience and rapid restoration of normal operations.
  • Performance and Insights: Use passenger feedback and data to address service issues, resolve complaints and enhance the passenger experience.
  • Technology Integration and Innovation: Drive the adoption of innovative tools and systems to improve decision-making, efficiency and passenger experience.

Leadership and Team Development:

  • Coach and Mentor Duty Managers: Guide decision-making, incident management and performance improvement, focusing on team capability building and succession planning.
  • Empower Operational Teams: Facilitate knowledge transfer, leadership growth and accountability to drive high performance and create a sustainable legacy.
  • Performance Management of Teams: Empower local teams to address performance issues effectively by cultivating a supportive culture and mentoring the Duty Management team to engage in constructive, solution-focused conversations with their teams.
  • Training Delivery: Develop and deliver both on-the-job and classroom-based training programs to enhance the skills, knowledge and confidence of Duty Managers and operational teams.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring a cohesive approach to operational delivery.
  • Safety and Compliance: Promote a safety-first culture, ensuring health, safety and security standards are upheld and incidents are promptly addressed.
  • Timely Escalation: Advise the Senior Leadership Management Team of any high-level operational, safety or security related alerts or developments which may have an impact on the airport operating environment.

Monitoring and Reporting:

  • Performance Metrics: Track and review KPIs, guiding teams to meet targets and identify areas for improvement.
  • Data Analysis: Support the preparation of operational reports to inform decision-making and drive improvements.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of airport operations experience, with at least three years in a duty management role in an airport environment.
  • Demonstrable experience over multiple years in managing shift-based teams in a Terminal Operations or AOCC environment.
  • Proven experience in inspiring, motivating and developing staff members to deliver at their best in a pressurised airport environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the operations.
  • Preferred Aviation experience within Saudi Arabia or in the GCC.
