We're looking for an experienced AppDynamics Engineer to join our team and play a key role in building, optimising, and supporting enterprise‑grade observability solutions. If you're passionate about performance monitoring, automation, and helping organisations gain deep visibility into their applications, this role will put you right at the centre of that mission.
You'll work closely with development, infrastructure, and operations teams to ensure applications are instrumented correctly, performance issues are surfaced quickly, and insights are actionable.
What You'll Be Doing
- AppDynamics Deployment & Configuration: Install, configure, and maintain AppDynamics Controllers, Agents (Java, .NET, Machine, Database), and extensions across complex environments.
- Instrumentation & Tuning: Implement custom instrumentation, fine‑tune monitoring thresholds, and optimise dashboards, health rules, and alerting policies.
- Performance Analysis: Analyse application performance, identify bottlenecks, and provide actionable recommendations to engineering and operations teams.
- Dashboard & Reporting: Build intuitive dashboards, service flow maps, and executive‑level reports to visualise application health and KPIs.
- Automation & Integration: Automate agent deployment and configuration using CI/CD pipelines, scripts, or configuration management tools.
- Troubleshooting: Lead root‑cause analysis for performance incidents and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to resolve issues.
- Best Practices & Governance: Define monitoring standards, documentation, and governance models for consistent observability across the organisation.
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong hands‑on experience with AppDynamics (Controllers, Agents, Dashboards, Health Rules, Alerting).
- Deep understanding of APM concepts, distributed tracing, and application performance metrics.
- Experience instrumenting Java, .NET, Node.js, or other application stacks.
- Familiarity with Linux/Windows environments and application servers (Tomcat, IIS, WebLogic, etc.).
- Ability to analyse logs, metrics, and traces to diagnose performance issues.
- Experience working with CI/CD pipelines, automation tools, or scripting (PowerShell, Bash, Python).
- Strong communication skills and the ability to translate technical insights into business‑friendly language.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with other observability tools (e.g., Dynatrace, New Relic, Splunk, Grafana, Prometheus).
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) and cloud‑native architectures.
- Understanding of microservices, Kubernetes, and containerised environments.
- Experience integrating AppDynamics with ServiceNow, alerting systems, or custom APIs.
