Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Applications Database Administrator (Apps DBA) to manage, maintain, and optimize our diverse database and application environments. The ideal candidate will possess hands-on expertise in Oracle Applications and a wide range of database systems, including SQL Server, MySQL, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, and Oracle APEX. Additional knowledge in technologies like WebLogic, Oracle RAC, ASM, Sharding, and Pgpool is highly desirable.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Administer and support Oracle E-Business Suite / Oracle Applications environments.
- Perform installation, configuration, tuning, patching, and upgrades for databases, including:
- Oracle Database (including RAC and ASM)
- SQL Server, MySQL, MongoDB, PostgreSQL (with Pgpool and Sharding)
- Manage and configure Oracle APEX applications.
- Administer and support WebLogic Server for application deployment and performance tuning.
- Monitor system performance, identify issues, and implement solutions.
- Ensure high availability, backup, and disaster recovery solutions across platforms.
- Work with development and infrastructure teams to support application lifecycle and deployment.
- Implement database security policies and best practices.
- Develop and maintain documentation for database architectures, configurations, processes, and procedures.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience as an Applications DBA or similar role.
Hands-on experience with:
- Oracle E-Business Suite / Applications DBA tasks
- Oracle RAC and ASM
- WebLogic Server
- SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB administration
- Oracle APEX development/support
- PostgreSQL Sharding and Pgpool setup and tuning
- Strong understanding of database security, backup, recovery, and high availability.
- Excellent problem-solving and performance tuning skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
