This is a unique opportunity for a passionate educator to help shape Arabic language and Islamic Education at The Ivy from the very beginning. At The Ivy, we want Arabic to feel like a living part of the children's day — heard in stories, songs, conversations, play, routines, projects, and everyday interactions. Our Arabic & Islamic Educator will work closely with classroom teachers to make language learning joyful, meaningful, and accessible for both Arabic-speaking children and those experiencing Arabic as an additional language. The educator will also deliver thoughtful, age-appropriate Islamic Education for Muslim children in line with UAE and KHDA requirements.

Our Arabic & Islamic Educator will work closely with classroom teachers to make language learning joyful, meaningful, and accessible for both Arabic-speaking children and those experiencing Arabic as an additional language.

The educator will also deliver thoughtful, age-appropriate Islamic Education for Muslim children in line with UAE and KHDA requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Arabic Language: Deliver engaging Arabic experiences that build children's confidence in listening, speaking, vocabulary, comprehension, and emerging literacy.
Islamic Education: Plan and deliver warm, meaningful, developmentally appropriate Islamic Education for Muslim children in accordance with applicable UAE and KHDA requirements.
Integrated Learning: Bring Arabic into children's everyday experiences through storytelling, music, movement, conversation, play, routines, projects, and classroom inquiry.
Differentiation: Adapt learning for children with different levels of Arabic exposure, from fluent Arabic speakers to children hearing the language for the first time.
Curriculum Collaboration: Work closely with classroom educators to connect Arabic and Islamic learning to The Ivy's wider curriculum, classroom inquiries, and children's emerging interests.
Assessment & Documentation: Observe and document children's progress, contributing to assessment, portfolios, reports, and meaningful family updates.
UAE Culture & Identity: Create engaging opportunities for children to explore UAE culture, heritage, traditions, national identity, and the wider Arabic-speaking world.
Learning Environment: Develop beautiful, thoughtful resources and learning experiences that make Arabic language and culture visible throughout the centre.
Family Engagement: Build warm relationships with families and communicate children's learning and progress in collaboration with classroom educators.
Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues and leadership to ensure Arabic and Islamic Education feel like an integrated part of The Ivy experience rather than separate subjects.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Arabic Language or Literature, Islamic Studies, Islamic Education, Sharia, Education, Early Childhood Education, Primary Education, Child Development, or another relevant field.
Qualifications and professional background that support eligibility for KHDA approval to teach both Arabic and Islamic Education within an early childhood setting.
Relevant qualifications must be appropriately attested and supported by transcripts and documentation required for KHDA approval.
Strong spoken and written Arabic, including excellent command of Modern Standard Arabic.
Strong working English and the ability to collaborate comfortably within an international, English-speaking team.
Minimum 1–2 years of experience working with children in an early childhood, kindergarten, nursery, school, or similar educational setting.
Experience teaching Arabic and/or Islamic Education to young children; experience teaching both is a significant plus.
A strong understanding of how young children learn through play, relationships, exploration, conversation, stories, and hands-on experiences.
Experience teaching children with different levels of Arabic fluency is an advantage.
Early Childhood Education qualification, such as CACHE Level 3 or equivalent, is an advantage where not already covered by the candidate's academic background.
Previous UAE or KHDA-regulated experience is an advantage, but not required.
Pediatric First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain before commencing).
Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills.
Valid UAE visa or eligibility to work in the UAE; police clearance and background checks required.

The Arabic & Islamic Educator works across our early years programme, with particular responsibility for Arabic language provision and Islamic Education within the relevant age groups. Teaching assignments and schedules are determined in accordance with KHDA requirements and the needs of the programme.
