Overview

BIG Language Solutions is seeking qualified, professional independent contractor interpreters for Over-the-Phone Interpreting (OPI) and Video Remote Interpreting (VRI) assignments.

Target Language(s): Arabic

About the Company

The Interpreter is responsible for facilitating accurate, complete, and culturally appropriate communication between English-speaking representatives and Limited English Proficient (LEP) individuals across multiple interpretation modalities, including Over-the-Phone Interpretation (OPI) and Video Remote Interpretation (VRI). This role supports a wide range of interactions, including healthcare, customer service, insurance, pharmacy, social services, financial assistance, scheduling, and general client communications.

About the Role

The Interpreter must possess exceptional language proficiency, strong listening skills, cultural competency, professionalism, and the ability to accurately interpret complex conversations while maintaining confidentiality, impartiality, and the highest ethical standards.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate accurate and complete communication between English-speaking representatives and LEP individuals.
• Support various interactions across multiple industries.
• Maintain confidentiality and impartiality during interpretations.
• Uphold the highest ethical standards in all communications.

Qualifications

• Required Minimum one (1) year of professional interpretation experience.
• Native or near-native fluency in English and the required target language.
• Excellent verbal communication and active listening skills.
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Ability to accurately interpret complex conversations across multiple industries.
• Experience providing Over-the-Phone Interpretation (OPI) and Video Remote Interpretation (VRI).
• Strong cultural competency and professionalism.
• Ability to remain calm, impartial, and effective during difficult or emotional conversations.
• Strong computer literacy and ability to navigate multiple software applications simultaneously.
