The Senior Architect leads the architectural design and BIM coordination for construction projects, ensuring high-quality deliverables from concept through completion. This role includes strategic BIM implementation, interdisciplinary coordination, and mentoring architectural teams while ensuring compliance with local codes, standards, and sustainability requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead architectural BIM model development and coordination across the construction phase.
- Monitor production and review of shop drawings for compliance and accuracy.
- Coordinate between architectural, structural, and MEP disciplines for drawing integration.
- Prepare and submit shop drawings for approvals and update them per consultant comments.
- Lead clash detection and model validation using Navisworks or similar tools.
- Develop and maintain BIM templates, families, and libraries.
- Collaborate with engineers, subcontractors, and stakeholders to resolve design clashes and improve constructability.
- Train and mentor junior architectural staff on BIM processes and best practices.
- Participate in design reviews and provide technical insights to enhance project compliance and performance.
Required Qualifications & Competencies:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture.
- Minimum 10 years of experience, with at least 3 years focused on BIM implementation in construction projects.
- Proven expertise with architectural projects in GCC countries.
- Proficiency in Revit, Navisworks, BIM collaboration platforms (BIM 360, ACC).
- Strong knowledge of LOD specifications, COBie datasets, BIM standards (ISO 19650).
- Experience in clash detection, model federation, and interdisciplinary coordination.
- In-depth understanding of local building codes, regulations, and sustainability standards.
- Project management experience overseeing design execution from concept to completion.
