We are looking to hire a Manager, Architectural Design (Freezone UAE) who will be responsible for reviewing, assessing, and validating architectural proposals across designated freezone developments in the UAE.
The role ensures that all designs align with master planning principles, zoning regulations, and development guidelines, while complying with local authority requirements, building codes, and international standards.
This position is a contract role with an initial duration of 12 Months.
Key responsibilities:
- Review and verify architectural designs at all project stages, ensuring alignment with the master plan concept and development theme
- Ensure full compliance with zoning regulations, development control rules, and master planning guidelines
- Validate designs for adherence to UAE building regulations, municipal codes, fire and life safety standards, and international best practices. Design assessment and technical oversight
- Assess architectural concepts, floor plans, site layouts, and faade treatments
- Review technical drawings, specifications, and documentation submitted for approvals
- Evaluate the feasibility, safety, sustainability, and efficiency of proposed designs, coordination and Stakeholder engagement
- Coordinate with engineers, planners, developers, consultants, and contractors to ensure design accuracy and compliance
- Provide technical guidance and feedback during design revisions and approval processes
- Facilitate communication between internal DDA departments and external project stakeholders, construction and site oversight
- Monitor construction alignment with approved drawings and design intent
- Identify design deviations and recommend corrective actions
- Support inspections and site evaluations to ensure regulatory adherence authority approvals
- Manage approvals from relevant authorities during all design and construction stages
- Prepare, review, and issue architectural reports, recommendations, and compliance feedback
Knowledge, skills & experience:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture
- Proven UAE experience in architectural design, master planning, or regulatory roles
- Strong knowledge of UAE building codes, authority approval processes, zoning regulations, and freezone guidelines
- Proficiency in design software (AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, etc.)
- Strong analytical ability, technical accuracy, and attention to detail
- Ability to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and manage multiple design reviews simultaneously
- Proficient in both Arabic and English
