Job Purpose
The role holder is responsible for assisting in the design, assessment, and implementation of architectural heritage conservation initiatives across AlUla, Khaybar, and Tayma regions, ensuring that heritage assets, cultural landscapes, and related visitor experiences are conserved, activated, and managed in alignment with international standards and RCU's technical guidelines. The role exists to support the development, protection, interpretation, and sustainable activation of cultural and heritage sites, enabling their recognition as global heritage destinations.
Functional Responsibilities
- Assist in assessing architectural heritage conditions across designated sites to determine required conservation interventions and technical priorities in alignment with approved heritage standards.
- Design conservation recommendations for architectural and heritage assets by developing technical inputs, documentation, and treatment proposals to support restoration and preservation decision-making.
- Inspect heritage conservation works at sites and facilities to verify contractor adherence to conservation methodologies, construction codes, safety procedures, and internationally recognized technical standards.
- Verify technical compliance of heritage conservation plans, drawings, and material specifications to ensure alignment with RCU's conservation policies, regulatory requirements, and World Heritage guidelines.
- Contribute to the development of interpretive content, architectural documentation, and narrative scripts that support accurate public understanding and appreciation of archaeological and heritage assets.
- Support the development and review of design and development proposals for cultural and heritage assets to ensure technical alignment with conservation objectives and site-specific requirements, and oversee delivery as Business Owner or in a similar role.
- Report on conservation progress by preparing technical updates, site condition reports, and evaluation summaries to support effective monitoring, decision-making, and organizational transparency.
- Supervise field surveys and data collection efforts related to architectural heritage assets to guarantee the accuracy of documentation used for conservation planning and site management.
- Perform any other job-related duties required by the direct manager.
Academic Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Architectural Conservation, Heritage Conservation, Historic Preservation, Cultural Heritage Management, Archaeology, or a related field.
Work Experience
- 5 Years of relevant experience.
