Job Scope
Area Manager is responsible for establishing and maintaining long-term relationships with merchants, ensuring effective training, and supporting the sales team. This role is key to achieving sales targets, managing merchant concerns, and promoting company products and services to foster growth and customer satisfaction.
Key Accountabilities
Merchant & Channel Relationship Management
- Build and nurture long-term relationships with merchant sales staff to drive consistent business growth.
- Ensure all assigned stores and merchant partners are equipped with up-to-date marketing materials and product information.
- Train and qualify merchant teams and advisors on processes, product features, technical workflow, and compliance requirements.
Sales & Target Achievement
- Meet and exceed individual and team sales targets and KPIs through effective planning and execution.
- Drive loan product penetration within allocated markets.
- Monitor sales funnel metrics and intervene to improve approval rates, activation, and conversion.
Team Leadership & Performance Management
- Lead, coach, and manage a team of Sales Executives/Relationship Officers to ensure high productivity and continuous skill development.
- Conduct regular performance reviews, field coaching, and training refreshers to enhance team capability.
Customer Experience & Service Quality
- Provide exceptional customer service and promptly address customer and merchant inquiries, escalations, and concerns.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of loan products, financing programs, and relevant financial services to guide customers accurately.
Market Intelligence & Strategy
- Monitor market trends, competitor offerings, and customer preferences to adjust sales strategies and improve area performance.
- Provide recommendations for sales leadership based on field insights.
Reporting & Performance Tracking
- Track, evaluate, and report weekly, monthly, and quarterly sales performance metrics.
- Maintain detailed MIS reports covering conversions, productivity, merchant performance, and overall area growth.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree.
- 57 years of experience in sales, preferably in consumer finance, fintech.
- Proven track record of achieving sales targets and managing field sales teams.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
