Role Overview
We are a dynamicsocial media agency in Dubai, creating standout content for UAE brands. We need an Art Director to lead visual storytelling across platforms. You'll combine creative vision, team leadership, and design skills to deliver top-tier campaigns efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
1. Creative Leadership & Strategy
- Develop conceptDesigns and master key visuals that match brand identities and campaign goals.
- Come up with creative ideas and adapt them into the content calendar and campaigns.
- Lead on the development of these ideas with various teams into a final visual
- Lead brainstorming sessions with social media managers, copywriters, designers, and clients.
- Review all deliverables to ensure they meet our quality standards.
2. Team Leadership & Client Management
- Create and presentpitch decks that win new business and impress existing clients.
- Post-campaign analysis: Audit content performance, analyze campaign results and suggest creative improvements.
- Act as theprimary creative liaisonfor clients, presenting mockups, justifying creative choices, and iterating based on feedback.
- Work with account teams to align creative work with budgets and timelines.
- Lead & Mentor junior designers and freelancers, oversee workflows, providing actionable feedback to improve the team's design capabilities and to create key assets when needed
3. Hands-On Content Creation
- Create and oversee social media visuals using Adobe Suite (graphic and animation)
- Stay ahead ofplatform trendsand apply them.
- Manage photo/video shoots, directing teams to get the right look.
- Ensure final deliveries meet quality standards.
- Up to date with the current tools, their capabilities and limitations.
4. Budget & Process Optimization
- Find and establish connections with different freelancers that fit the job.
- Help plan budgets and find smart ways to save costs without cutting creativity.
- Balance in-house and freelance resources effectively.
5. Agency Growth & Efficiency
- Streamline workflows by creatingtemplates and design systemsfor recurring client needs (e.g., monthly content batches).
- Identify opportunities toupsell and cross-sell creative servicesto existing clients.
- Build case studies: Document successful campaigns to use in future pitches.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in visual communications
- 5-7 yearsof art direction/design experience, preferably in asocial media agency or digital-first environment, including 2+ years leading projects or small teams, withexamples of pitched-and-won workin your portfolio.
- Portfolio: Showcases expertise in social media content (e.g., campaign examples, platform-specific adaptations).
- Technical Skills:
- Mastery ofAdobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Lightroom, premier pro and After Effects.
- Familiarity withBlackmagic Resolve Studio, Google web designer and the rest of adobe suite products
- Soft Skills:
- Ability to deliver under tight deadlines.
- Fluent inArabic and English
