JOB PURPOSE:

The Art Director is responsible for leading the visual concept and creative execution of multi-channel digital campaigns at Kijamii. Working under the Associate Creative Director/Sr. Art Director, the role drives the translation of strategic briefs into compelling visual narratives that deliver measurable impact for clients. The Art Director serves as a key creative link, translating briefs, presenting art direction, while mentoring junior creatives and maintaining the highest standards of design quality and brand consistency.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:

• Lead the ideation and visual concept development for integrated, social-first digital campaigns, ensuring ideas are platform-native, culturally relevant, and aligned with client objectives, with a strong focus on audience engagement and performance.
• Organize and manage the creative team's workflow, assigning tasks strategically, guiding execution, and ensuring alignment across all deliverables while maintaining efficiency and quality.
• Translate creative briefs into high-quality visual assets, overseeing the design process from concept to final delivery with a strong attention to detail and brand consistency.
• Create Art Direction and layouts/Key visuals based on the briefs received by clients.
• Collaborate closely with copywriters, strategists, motion designers, and account managers to develop insight-driven, culturally grounded creative work, contributing actively to structured ideation and concept development.
• Present and articulate creative concepts confidently to clients and internal stakeholders, incorporating feedback while preserving creative integrity.
• Review and approve design deliverables produced by graphic designers, providing constructive feedback and maintaining quality standards.
• Stay ahead of visual trends, digital platform updates, and emerging design tools, proactively integrating relevant innovations into creative output.
• Ensure all creative deliverables comply with platform specifications, brand guidelines, and client-approved visual identities.
• Support the Associate Creative Director and Sr. Art Director in developing pitch decks and proposals, contributing with strong visual storytelling and high-impact creative concepts.
• Actively contribute to building Kijamii's creative culture by leading brainstorms, inspiring the team, and raising the overall creative bar through continuous feedback and knowledge sharing.
• Perform any other related task as assigned by management

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

Education

Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Fine Arts, or a related discipline.

Experience

Minimum 5 years of experience in art direction or graphic design, with at least 3 years at a senior level within a digital or creative agency environment..

Skills:

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects)
• Proficiency in AI-powered design tools and workflows, with the ability to execute and enhance creative outputs such as master visuals, storyboards, and content adaptations.
• Strong knowledge of digital platform specifications (Meta, TikTok, Google Display, YouTube)
• Familiarity with motion graphics and basic video editing is a plus

Soft Skills:

• Exceptional visual storytelling and conceptual thinking abilities
• Strong presentation and client-facing communication skills (Arabic & English)
• Ability to manage multiple projects under pressure while meeting deadline
• Leadership and mentoring capabilities with a collaborative mindset, delegate tasks, and align priorities efficiently.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
