A key client in Abu Dhabi is seeking an experienced Assembly Line Manager, with expertise working on Lithium-Ion (cylindrical cells) and/or Lithium Polymer Cells.
Candidates must be willing to relocate to Abu Dhabi, and have a track record in setting up assembly lines for lithium-ion battery pack assembly, and managing production teams in a fast-paced, safety-critical environment. Experience setting up such facilities in Pakistan or India are also encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
- Setting up battery assembly lines for Lithium-Ion and Lithium Polymer, overseeing daily operations of the assembly line, ensuring production targets, quality standards, and safety protocols are consistently met.
- Procure all necessary equipemnt and input required for the assembly line
- Manage a multi-disciplinary team, driving efficiency, stable, and scalable production performance
- Design semi-automated assembly line for LiPo, LiHV, and Lithium-ion
- Supervise and lead assembly line teams, including operators, technicians, and shift leaders
- Plan daily and weekly production schedules to meet output and delivery requirements
- Monitor line performance, including yield, cycle time, throughput, and equipment utilization
- Adhere to safety standards, especially related to Li-ion/Li-Po cell handling
- Identify bottlenecks, implement process improvements using Lean/Kaizen methods
- Review quality data, investigate defects or process deviations, and drive preventive actions
- support new equipment commissioning, line balancing, and scaling activities as production grows
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electical Engineering, Industrial engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field
- Certifications in Lean Six Sigma or similar methodologies would be highly advantageous
- 6-10+ years ideally in battery manufacturing / battery assembly line experience
- Proven experience in setting up assembly lines for lithium-ion battery pack, and managing production line (Mandatory requirement)
- Good communication skills in English - written and verbal
