About the Opportunity

Terracotta is supporting a leading UAE energy organization in the appointment of an experienced Asset Manager for a major gas-fired power generation project currently under construction.

Acting as the owner/shareholder representative, the Asset Manager will oversee the asset from a commercial, financial, operational and governance perspective, supporting its continued development and eventual transition from construction into operations.

This is a hands-on role requiring a strong understanding of IPP/IWPP structures, power project contracts, asset performance and stakeholder management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the owner/shareholder representative for the assigned power generation asset.
  • Monitor overall commercial, financial, operational, HSE and project performance.
  • Consolidate and prepare monthly asset performance reports for senior management.
  • Review project progress against budgets, contractual obligations, milestones and key performance indicators.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of key project agreements, including PPA/PWPA and other project contracts.
  • Review financial models and connect key assumptions to cash flow, financial statements, budgets and overall asset performance.
  • Support the transition of the asset from construction and commissioning into operations.
  • Monitor key risks, contractual obligations and mitigation actions.
  • Support the onboarding and mobilization of the O&M organization, including outstanding policies, procedures and operational requirements.
  • Coordinate with internal functions including Project Delivery, Finance, Legal, HSE and other technical teams.
  • Work closely with operating companies, project partners, contractors and other external stakeholders.
  • Provide clear reporting, analysis and recommendations to support management and shareholder decision-making

These areas closely reflect the formal Asset Manager mandate, which includes business planning, financial analysis, construction-to-operations transition, contract oversight, monthly operational/financial reviews and risk management.

Candidate Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical or Civil), Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience within utilities, power generation, energy infrastructure and/or construction.

  • Good knowledge of PPA/PWPA arrangements and major project agreements
  • Strong commercial and contract management capability
  • Ability to interpret financial models and understand their relationship to cash flow, budgets and financial performance
  • Experience managing multiple internal and external stakeholders
  • Developer, owner or shareholder-side experience is preferred but not mandatory
  • Gas-fired/conventional power experience is strongly preferred; relevant experience across other generation technologies may also be considered
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills
  • Candidates must be available to join within a maximum of one month
