Qatar University Profile:

College Profile:

The College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) houses ten departments, covering a wide range of undergraduate and graduate specializations in the Arts and Sciences including English Literature & Linguistics, Arabic Language, History, Fine Arts, Geography, Sociology, Social Work, International Affairs, Mass Communication, Psychology, Policy, Planning & Development, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Chemistry, Biological Sciences, Environmental Sciences and Material Sciences. The College also houses Master Programs, which are in Environmental Sciences, Gulf Studies, Materials Science & Technology, Applied statistics and Arabic Language, and two PhD programs in Biological & Environmental Sciences and Gulf Studies. Additionally, the College offers a Program of Arabic for Non- Native Speakers. The well-established research centers namely the Center for Sustainable Development (CSD) and the Gulf Studies Center complement the portfolio.

It is worth mentioning that as members of Qatar University, CAS faculty members have excellent opportunities to secure intramural and extramural funding for their research ideas.

Department Profile:

The department of Mathematics and Statistics is committed to creating and disseminating high quality knowledge related to Mathematics and Statistics through research, teaching and various professional contributions. The department also aims to serve the academic community and the public in general. The department offers three undergraduate degrees, one graduate degree and one graduate certificate:
.The Bachelor of Science in Mathematics is of an interdisciplinary nature with one focus in Actuarial Mathematics and one in Applied Mathematics.
.The Bachelor of Science in Statistics is oriented towards applications and is accredited by Royal Statistical Society.
.The Master of Science in Applied Statistics provides advanced training in applied statistics, exposure to statistics in a consulting or collaborative research environment, and specialized coursework in a number of areas of emphasis.
.The Graduate Certificate in Applied Statistics provides a foundation in applied statistics as it develops skills that can be applied to a range of occupations in Qatar, from health to engineering.
Moreover, the department offers a Minor in Statistics and a Minor in Actuarial Mathematics, as well as a many service courses to a large number of students from other departments and colleges.

-The number of publications in Q1 journals in the last 5 years.

-The number of publications in Q2 journals in the last 5 years.

-The number of publications in Q3 journals in the last 5 years.

-The number of publications in Q4 journals in the last 5 years.

-The number of publications in non-indexed journals.

-The number of published books.

-The number of published chapters of books.

-The number of undergraduate/graduate students supervised and the role.

-Awards and Grants (with the role and budget amount).

3.Teaching, research, and service philosophy.

4. Professional Development activities and services to university and profession.

5.Four referees contact information (physical and email addresses as well as their phone contact information).

6.Copy of (all degrees certificate including the transcripts) highest earned credential (transcript of highest degree if graduated from an institution where course work was completed. However, if no course work was completed, a copy of the certificate letter from the registrar of highest credential granting institution regarding highest academic degree).

7.Any additional documentation deemed relevant to the application.
