College Profile:
The College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) houses ten departments, covering a wide range of undergraduate and graduate specializations in the Arts and Sciences including English Literature & Linguistics, Arabic Language, History, Fine Arts, Geography, Sociology, Social Work, International Affairs, Mass Communication, Psychology, Policy, Planning & Development, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Chemistry, Biological Sciences, Environmental Sciences and Material Sciences. The College also houses Master Programs, which are in Environmental Sciences, Gulf Studies, Materials Science & Technology, Applied statistics and Arabic Language, and two PhD programs in Biological & Environmental Sciences and Gulf Studies. Additionally, the College offers a Program of Arabic for Non- Native Speakers. The well-established research centers namely the Center for Sustainable Development (CSD) and the Gulf Studies Center complement the portfolio.

Department Profile:
The Department of Humanities at Qatar University, Doha, invites applications for a full-time position at the level of Assistant / Associate Professor/ Professor in Modern History to begin in August 2026. The position is renewable for three years. Primary responsibilities will include developing and teaching classroom-based in Modern History with demonstrated teaching excellence and a commitment to scholarship.
Candidates should be committed to excellence in teaching. Candidates must have a PhD degree in Modern History. Preference will be given to candidates who have a track record of excellent publication and possess the potential and willingness to collaborate with faculty within and across departmental divisions. Priority will be given to candidates who are fluent in both Arabic and English.
