College Profile:

The College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) houses ten departments, covering a wide range of undergraduate specializations in the Arts and Sciences including English Literature & Linguistics and Arabic Language, History, Fine Arts, Geography, Sociology, Social Work, International Affairs, Mass Communication, Psychology, Policy, Planning & Development, Mathematics, Statistics, Chemistry, Physics, Biological Sciences, Environmental Science and Material Science. The College also houses Master Programs, which are in Environmental Science, Gulf Studies, Material Science and Arabic Language. In Fall 2013, CAS launched a PhD program in Biological and Environmental Sciences. Additionally, the College offers a Program of Arabic for Non- Native Speakers. The well-established research centers namely the Center for Sustainable Development (CSD) and the Gulf Studies Center complement the portfolio.

Department Profile:

The Department of Humanities at Qatar University, Doha, invites applications for a full time position at the level of Assistant / Associate Professor/ Professor in Philosophy to begin in August 2026. The position is three years renewable. Primary responsibilities will include developing and teaching classroom-based in Philosophy with demonstrated teaching excellence and a commitment to scholarship.

Candidates should be committed to excellence in teaching. Candidates must have a PhD degree in Philosophy. Preference will be given to candidates who have a track record of excellent publications and possess the potential and willingness to collaborate with faculty within and across departmental divisions. Priority will be given to candidates who are fluent in both Arabic and English.
