The Role

As an Assistant Buyer Private Label, you will support the buying and product development process from concept to customer. You will work closely with the Buyer, Design, Planning, and Supply Chain teams to build commercially successful seasonal collections aligned with Namshi's brand vision and margin targets.

This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a sharp understanding of regional fashion trends and customer behavior.

Key Responsibilities:

Product Development & Buying Support

  • Assist in building seasonal collections in line with brand identity, commercial targets, and customer demand.
  • Support in developing product briefs with Design and ensuring collections align with price architecture and margin goals.
  • Track product lifecycle from sampling to production, ensuring timelines are met.

Supplier & Vendor Coordination

  • Support in sourcing new suppliers and maintaining strong vendor relationships.
  • Assist in price negotiations, margin tracking, and ensuring cost efficiency.
  • Follow up on production timelines, shipment schedules, and quality standards.

Assortment & Commercial Planning

  • Help define assortment mix by category, style, and price point.
  • Work closely with Planning to forecast demand and manage intake quantities.
  • Maintain accurate buying sheets and product data.

Trade & Performance Analysis

  • Monitor weekly sales, sell-through, margin, and stock performance.
  • Identify bestsellers, slow movers, and re-buy opportunities.
  • Prepare performance reports and seasonal review presentations.

Market & Trend Research

  • Conduct ongoing competitor analysis and trend research across regional and global markets.
  • Translate trends into commercial product recommendations suitable for the Middle Eastern customer.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Marketing and Content teams to support product launches and campaigns.
  • Coordinate with Logistics and Operations to ensure smooth product flow from supplier to warehouse.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum 23 years of experience in Buying, Merchandising, or Product Development (fashion retail or e-commerce preferred).
  • Private Label experience is highly advantageous.
  • Bachelor's degree in Fashion, Business, or a related field.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong understanding of retail math, margin structure, and pricing strategy.
  • Commercially driven with analytical confidence (Excel proficiency required).
  • Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
  • Deep awareness of Middle Eastern fashion trends and customer preferences.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Experience with ERP or PLM systems is a plus.
