Title: Assistant Customer Service Manager
Location: Singapore
Our client is a leader in sustainability solutions, operating across multiple continents with a commitment to safety, operational excellence, and customer partnership.
They are seeking an experienced Assistant Customer Service Manager to support the commercial and operational teams while ensuring exceptional customer service delivery across regional and international markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Customer Service Manager in overseeing day-to-day customer service operations.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customers regarding orders, shipments, contracts, documentation, and service-related enquiries.
- Coordinate closely with Commercial, Operations, Logistics, Shipping, and Finance teams to ensure smooth execution of customer orders.
- Manage customer expectations and proactively resolve operational and service issues.
- Monitor order fulfilment and ensure accurate and timely communication throughout the customer journey.
- Review, process, and coordinate export documentation including invoices, packing lists, Bills of Lading, Certificates of Origin, and other trade-related documents.
- Manage and administer Letters of Credit, ensuring compliance with LC terms and banking requirements.
- Liaise with banks, customers, freight forwarders, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely presentation and negotiation of documents under LC transactions.
- Identify and mitigate discrepancies in trade documentation to minimize payment delays and commercial risks.
- Prepare customer performance reports, service metrics, and management updates.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.
- Support and mentor customer service team members while fostering a collaborative team environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain, International Trade, Logistics, Operations Management, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 to 8 years of experience in Customer Service, Sales Support, Commercial Operations or Order Fulfillment positions.
- Previous or current experience in a supervisory or team leadership capacity is a must.
- Experience liaising directly with banks and international customers on LC(Letter of Credit) documentation and payment processes.
- Experience with export Shipping Documentation containerized shipments, and/or incoterms is highly preferred
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
