Assistant Director Asset Management / Portfolio Management

Brief Summary:

We are seeking a knowledgeable Analyst in Asset Management – Assistant Director to drive the strategic management of diverse portfolio companies. This role offers an exciting opportunity to enhance corporate governance and investment performance. The main requirement of the role would be to have hands-on experience managing SME-level portfolio companies, including post-investment value creation, business improvement, and buy-out/exit (M&A) activities.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with a small team to manage portfolio companies as an external director or in a similar role.
• Develop and implement comprehensive business plans aimed at maximizing investment performance.
• Report business plans and outcomes to the Investment Committee and other relevant entities.
• Strengthen internal controls and corporate governance frameworks.
• Improve financial and operational systems, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting.
• Oversee the establishment and functioning of the board of directors and management structure.
• Work with the team to execute exits and strategic transfers to investors.
• Identify and source new investment opportunities utilizing networks and asset management insights.

Requirements:

• A relevant Degree in Business, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3–5 years of practical experience in Consulting, Investment Banking, or Corporate Finance.
• Solid understanding of M&A processes, business improvement, and portfolio management.
• Proven capability in managing governance and operational tasks effectively.
• A proactive approach to tackling business operations and investments.
• Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude towards challenges.
• Demonstrated initiative and ability to deliver results in a dynamic environment.
