Job Description
Professional Experience (Must Have)
5 years Experience In steel industry into Electrical & Automation Maintenance
Minimum Qualifications
Diploma/Bachelor's
Key Responsibilities
1. Electrical Maintenance
- Assist Senior Technicians and Supervisors in routine electrical maintenance activities.
- Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance of electrical equipment.
- Assist in attending electrical breakdowns and restoring equipment safely.
- Inspect electrical panels, motors, cables, switches and other equipment.
- Identify abnormal conditions such as overheating, loose connections, unusual noise or electrical faults and report them to the supervisor.
2. Motor & Equipment Maintenance
- Assist in inspection and maintenance of AC/DC motors.
- Check motor connections, terminal boxes and cable conditions.
- Assist with motor replacement, alignment and connection activities.
- Inspect contactors, relays, starters and protection devices.
- Support maintenance of pumps, conveyors, fans and other electrically operated equipment.
3. Steel Plant Equipment
Assist with electrical maintenance of equipment such as:
- Rolling mill equipment
- CCM equipment
- Reheating furnace
- Cooling beds
- Conveyors
- Cranes
- Pumps
- Fans
- Hydraulic power units
- Material handling equipment
- Workshop machinery
4. Breakdown & Troubleshooting
- Assist the electrical maintenance team during breakdowns.
- Support fault finding using electrical testing instruments.
- Assist in troubleshooting motors, cables, MCCs, control circuits, sensors and drives.
- Report recurring electrical faults to the Senior Technician/Supervisor.
5. Preventive Maintenance
- Perform assigned preventive maintenance activities according to the maintenance schedule.
- Check electrical connections, panels, motors, cables and control components.
- Assist in cleaning electrical panels and equipment.
- Record maintenance observations and report defects.
6. Safety
- Follow all electrical safety procedures and plant HSE requirements.
- Use appropriate PPE during electrical maintenance activities.
- Follow LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) procedures.
- Ensure electrical equipment is isolated before maintenance.
- Follow Permit-to-Work procedures.
- Maintain proper housekeeping around electrical work areas.
- Never perform electrical work beyond the candidate's authorized competency.
7. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain basic maintenance records and checklists.
- Report completed maintenance activities to the supervisor.
- Inform the supervisor about defective equipment, spare requirements and unsafe conditions.
- Support maintenance teams during planned shutdowns and major maintenance activities.

- Basic PLC/VFD training.
- Working-at-height training.
- First Aid / Fire Safety awareness.
