The Role

As an Assistant Housekeeping Manager, you will support the Housekeeping Manager in overseeing all aspects of the housekeeping operations within the resort, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and guest satisfaction are consistently maintained. You will lead a team of housekeeping associates, coordinate daily operations, and implement best practices that uphold the resort's reputation for excellence. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with strong leadership skills, an ability to motivate and develop team members, and a passion for providing exceptional guest experiences.

Key Areas of Responsibilities

Please note that the responsibilities outlined below are not exhaustive. Red Sea Global Hospitality employees continuously innovate in caring for the needs of the business, their guests, and their colleagues. As an Assistant Housekeeping Manager, you will need to:

Operational Leadership

  • Assist the Housekeeping Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the housekeeping department to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
  • Supervise housekeeping team members, ensuring that all tasks are carried out in accordance with departmental standards and policies.
  • Monitor the quality of cleanliness in all guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house areas, ensuring all areas are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
  • Support in scheduling, staffing, and organizing team members to ensure efficient daily operations, especially during peak times.
  • Assist in managing the department's budget, ensuring cost-effective operations and minimizing waste.

Guest Experience & Satisfaction

  • Ensure that guests rooms and public areas meet Red Sea Global Hospitality's standards for cleanliness, comfort, and presentation.
  • Respond to guest requests, complaints, and inquiries in a timely and professional manner, ensuring guest satisfaction and resolution.
  • Proactively monitor guest feedback and take appropriate action to address any concerns related to housekeeping services.
  • Ensure that all guest requests are communicated and handled promptly, ensuring guests preferences are met.

Team Management & Development

  • Assist in recruiting, training, and developing housekeeping team members, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties to the highest standard.
  • Provide guidance and support to team members, fostering a positive and motivated work environment.
  • Conduct regular team meetings to ensure clear communication and alignment of departmental goals and objectives.
  • Monitor team performance, provide feedback, and implement strategies to improve productivity and service quality.

Inventory Management & Stock Control

  • Oversee the inventory of housekeeping supplies, ensuring stock levels are maintained and that supplies are ordered as needed.
  • Implement and monitor efficient systems for linen and guest amenities inventory control, ensuring proper handling and storage.
  • Work closely with the purchasing department to ensure that all necessary supplies are ordered in a timely and cost-effective manner.

Health & Safety Compliance

  • Ensure that all housekeeping operations adhere to health, safety, and hygiene regulations and standards.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections of the housekeeping areas, ensuring all safety procedures are followed.
  • Promote and enforce safe working practices, ensuring that all housekeeping team members are trained and adhere to safety guidelines.
  • Implement and maintain appropriate cleaning standards for high-touch areas, particularly in line with health protocols and industry best practices.

Room Inspections & Quality Control

  • Conduct regular room inspections to ensure cleanliness standards are consistently met and report any maintenance issues to the engineering team for prompt resolution.
  • Review room condition reports and take corrective action when necessary to maintain a high level of guest satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with the maintenance department to ensure that all repairs and maintenance issues in guest rooms and public areas are addressed in a timely manner.

Communication & Reporting

  • Communicate effectively with other departments, particularly Front Office, Engineering, and F&B, to ensure seamless operations and guest satisfaction.
  • Assist in preparing reports on housekeeping performance, budget compliance, inventory levels, and guest satisfaction to be submitted to the Housekeeping Manager.
  • Maintain accurate records of guest requests, complaints, and any incidents that require attention.
  • Ensure that all housekeeping-related communications are clear, timely, and professional.

Sustainability & Environmental Practices

  • Support the implementation of sustainability initiatives within the housekeeping department, including energy conservation, waste reduction, and sustainable sourcing of supplies.
  • Monitor and enforce green practices in cleaning and operational procedures, ensuring alignment with Red Sea Global Hospitality's commitment to sustainability.
