We are currently hiring a Assistant Manager - Business Asset Finance on behalf of a prestigious client, based in their Dubai office.

Job Purpose:

  • The role of the Job Holder is to manage a team of underwriters and take key decisions related to BAF applications of Individuals & Companies as defined in the Retail Credit Policy of the Bank.
  • Prepare proposals for High value transactions as well as deviations related to the product level Credit Policy of the Bank are taken by the Job Holder as per the delegation matrix of the Bank.

Job Description:

  • Decision high value transactions and escalations from the team in compliance with the Retail Credit Policy of the Bank.
  • Decision deviations to the Credit Policy as per the defined deviations matrix of the Bank.
  • Evaluate and escalate cases to the proper authority as defined in the Credit Policy of the Retail Banking PPGs.
  • Zero error & high level of productivity
  • Work with the front end & Client engagement to reduce error rate and increase straight through processing, thus reducing TAT for the Customer
  • Close coordination with Policy Team on Deviations, New policies circulars in order to have a better understanding of policy and decision making.
  • To take appropriate decision within authority level on all cases referred to the department on the basis of borrowers character and integrity, capability of repayment, business, economic and personal conditions, capital input and collateral available and recommend on the basis of same to higher level as per discretionary authority matrix.
  • Ensuring quality service to internal/external customers through adherence to agreed SLA's for processing cases. Adequate market knowledge of UAE SME & Property market.
  • Check and decision daily transactions efficiently within the approved policy and procedure and in accordance with the approved level of authorities.
  • Ensure completion of cases within prescribed TAT and full adherence to SLA with Business Group.
  • Prompt resolution of all issues & queries raised by Branches in 2 hours maximum
  • Adherence to Operational Risk Guidelines.
  • Full Compliance to all relevant policies and procedures governing Risk-based underwriting & ensure a minimum SATSIFACTORY INTERNAL AUDIT Rating. NO Adverse audit findings with HIGH RISK Impact.
  • Resolution of all audit findings within prescribed timeframe.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • 6 to 8 years solid Banking Experience including supervisory responsibilities, with at least 3 to 4 years experience in SME underwriting role.
  • Written and spoken English Arabic preferred.
  • Good understanding of banking operations, Bank policies, procedures, guidelines, statutory requirements, market conditions.
  • Extensive experience in Financial Analysis.
  • Must have had decision authority on SME / Commercial Mortgage.
  • Islamic Banking Credit (Murabaha/ Ijarah).
  • Strong leadership qualities.
  • Confident decision maker.
  • Well-developed investigative and analytical mind.
