Role Overview
The Assistant Manager Finance will play a key role in accounts receivable management, treasury operations, monthly financial close, and employee claims administration. This position requires strong coordination with sales, banking partners, shared services teams, and internal stakeholders to ensure financial accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Accounts Receivable (AR)
- Prepare and circulate AR ageing statements to sales teams by the 5th and 20th of each month
- Share invoice and collection details with shared services teams for accurate receipt posting
- Set up collection targets by zone and follow up with sales teams to meet targets
- Manage customer balance confirmations and resolve discrepancies
Treasury Operations
- Coordinate with teams on FEBAN open-item clearing
- Ensure accurate recording of payments and collections as per bank statements
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations
- Prepare weekly cash flow statements to monitor liquidity
- Coordinate with banks on documentation and compliance requirements
Monthly Closing
- Ensure all invoices are booked by month-end
- Record accruals for unbooked FI invoices
- Support timely and accurate financial closing processes
Employee Claims
- Review and validate employee claims as per company policy
- Report disputes and ensure timely resolution
- Ensure on-time claim payments
- Accrue unbooked employee claims during month-end close
Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
- High attention to detail with strong deadline management
- Excellent coordination and communication skills
- Proficiency in MS Excel and ERP systems (SAP preferred)
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional and shared service teams
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Finance, or Accounting (MBA / CA Inter preferred)
- 5-7 years of relevant experience in finance or accounting roles
- Prior experience working with shared services setups is an advantage
