Assistant Manager Legal

Minimum Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB) from a recognized university.
- Additional qualifications such as LLM or Postgraduate Diploma in Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) will be an added advantage.
Experience
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in the field of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR), with substantial exposure to:
- Anti-counterfeiting investigations, surveillance, and enforcement activities across international markets.
- IPR enforcement, infringement litigation support, and brand protection.
- Corporate and secretarial legal matters including board governance and regulatory compliance.
- Prior experience in the FMCG, manufacturing, or consumer goods sectors is preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and execute IPR enforcement initiatives, including counterfeit market surveillance and coordination of enforcement actions.
- Contribute to anti-counterfeit strategies across regions including Sub-Saharan Africa, China, and the GCC.
- Manage interactions with external counsel on trademark infringement cases and brand protection matters.
- Conduct investigations and due diligence related to IP infringements.
- Draft, review, and negotiate various legal documents and commercial agreements.
- Provide legal advice on corporate and international commercial matters.
- Ensure compliance with corporate secretarial requirements, including preparation of board documents and records management.
- Collaborate with internal departments and international subsidiaries to address legal and compliance needs.
- Maintain a structured and efficient legal document management system.
- Assist in budgeting and tracking legal expenses.
- Engage with government bodies and statutory authorities as needed.
- Conduct legal research and present risk assessments to support decision-making.
