Role Summary:

The Assistant Manager Tax will be responsible for managing indirect tax compliance across GCC, Egypt, and India, including VAT and GST filings, reconciliations, and regulatory updates. The role requires strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively across finance and business teams to ensure timely and accurate tax reporting. Basic working knowledge of corporate tax and transfer pricing will be an added advantage.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure timely and accurate filing of VAT/GST returns in GCC, Egypt, and India.
  • Review and reconcile tax accounts, input/output VAT, and GST ledgers.
  • Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations across relevant jurisdictions and assess their impact.
  • Coordinate with external advisors and local finance teams for country-specific tax matters.
  • Support tax audits and respond to queries from tax authorities.
  • Assist in automation and process improvement initiatives related to indirect tax compliance.
  • Maintain documentation and records in line with statutory requirements.
  • Provide support in preparing tax reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support the VP - Tax and Senior Manager - Tax in tax planning strategies to optimize tax liabilities.
  • Identify tax-saving opportunities and ensure efficient tax structuring.
  • Keep abreast of changes in tax regulations and assess their impact on the business.
  • Develop and implement internal tax compliance processes and controls.

Core Competencies:

  • Strong understanding of VAT/GST laws in GCC, Egypt, and India. Experience in tax return preparation, reconciliation, and documentation.
  • Ability to interpret tax legislation and apply it to business scenarios.
  • Strong analytical skills to identify tax-saving opportunities and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Basic working knowledge of corporate tax and transfer pricing will be advantageous.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and tax compliance tools.
  • Advanced Excel skills for data analysis and reconciliations.
  • Familiarity with e-filing portals and digital tax platforms in relevant jurisdictions.
  • Experience in handling tax audits and liaising with tax authorities.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 57 years of experience in indirect tax compliance, preferably in a multinational or regional organization.
  • Prior exposure to GCC VAT, Egypt VAT, and India GST is essential.
  • Experience in handling tax audits and working with external consultants is a plus.
  • Experience in a corporate or multinational tax environment preferred.
  • Proven track record of handling tax audits and managing tax authority interactions.
