About the Job:

Supervise and direct assigned Mobile Equipment Operators and Riggers involved in shifting/ collection and general materials movement on the Base & Quayside. Ensure that all materials movement activities are carried out in a timely, safe and efficient manner and arrange required equipment and manpower, in adherence to Procedures and HSE standards.

Job Specific Accountabilities:

  • Receive work assignments from Senior Supervisor. Studies work assignments, identifies exact requirements of equipment, organize requirement, requests appropriate lifting/ moving equipment and vehicles, plans work and issues necessary instructions to Mobile Equipment Operator/Rigger.
  • Supervise shifting/ collection operations to transfer of various materials to and from jetty / tenants warehouse /yards /holding areas. Materials include drill pipes, casings, tools, chemicals, pallets, cargo cases and baskets and oil/ petrol/ fuel drums. Items may include expensive and sensitive equipment.
  • Observes company safety rules and regulations in carrying out assigned duties. Uses safety wear and gear and reports to Senior Supervisor any unsafe conditions or practices. Participates in all safety/ fire- fighting drills as assigned. Reports any accidents, damage, equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to supervisors immediately.
  • Accompanies Mobile Equipment Operators (Crane, Forklift, and Tractor) to provide general assistance in material handling operations. Includes attaching loads with lifting shackles, manually manipulating and position loads to enable accurate fork-lifting (jumbo bags), fastening and securing loads on trucks/ vessels and providing hand signals to equipment operators.
  • Ensures that all activities in the Base & Quayside are carried out in accordance with the Company's Health, Safety, Security, Environment policies, procedures and guidelines. Ensures that safety rules, regulations and guidelines are fully explained to Operators; that appropriate safety and protective equipment is always available; that safety notices are prominently displayed in all work areas and that all accidents and incidents are efficiently investigated and analysed. Ensures that measures are implemented to avoid a recurrence.
  • Witnesses the shifting and collection activities during assigned shift to ensure that all operations are carried out in accordance with the Company's rules and regulations. Ensures availability of staff safety gear and its use by operators while on duty.
  • Attends to tenant's requests / service orders for the provision of manpower and equipment. Allocates required resources and completes appropriate source documentation.

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Certificate
  • 6 years experience in general Cargo handling operations with some exposure to oil well tools and materials.
  • Possess a valid UAE Driving License for Light Vehicles
  • Good awareness on HSE aspects.
  • Knowledge of ILMS source documentation and tariff.
