Job Summary
supports the Procurement Manager in planning, sourcing, negotiating, and managing the procurement of goods and services to ensure cost-effectiveness, quality, and timely delivery. The role involves vendor management, contract administration, cost control, and ensuring compliance with company policies and procurement best practices.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement & Sourcing
- Assist in developing and implementing procurement strategies aligned with company objectives.
- Source suppliers, obtain quotations, and evaluate bids based on price, quality, and delivery timelines.
- Prepare and issue RFQs, RFPs, and purchase orders.
- Conduct market research to identify new suppliers and cost-saving opportunities.
Vendor Management
- Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts to achieve best value.
- Monitor supplier performance and resolve issues related to quality, delivery, or service.
- Ensure supplier compliance with company standards and contractual obligations.
Cost Control & Budgeting
- Support cost analysis, benchmarking, and cost reduction initiatives.
- Track procurement budgets and expenditures.
- Identify opportunities for savings and efficiency improvements.
Operational Support
- Oversee daily procurement operations and supervise procurement staff.
- Ensure timely processing of purchase requisitions and orders.
- Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation.
- Coordinate with finance, logistics, and warehouse teams.
Compliance & Reporting
- Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and legal regulations.
- Prepare procurement reports, KPIs, and performance metrics.
- Assist in audits and contract reviews.
Team Leadership
- Support training and mentoring of procurement team members.
- Delegate tasks and ensure smooth workflow within the department.
- Act as Procurement Manager in their absence when required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Procurement, or related field.
- Professional certifications (CIPS/CPP/CSCP or equivalent) preferred.
Experience
- 10 - 15 years of procurement or supply chain experience.
- At least 23 years in a supervisory or senior procurement role.
- Experience in vendor negotiations and contract management.
