The Assistant Reservations & Revenue Manager will support the effective management of the hotel's Reservations and Revenue functions, ensuring maximum room revenue, occupancy, profitability and guest satisfaction. The role will be responsible for assisting with room inventory, pricing, forecasting, distribution channels, reservation operations and revenue optimization.
The position will work closely with Sales, Marketing, Front Office, Finance, Housekeeping and Reservations to ensure that commercial strategies are effectively implemented and that room inventory and rates are optimized according to market demand.
Key Responsibilities
1. Reservations Management
- Assist in managing the day-to-day operations of the Reservations Department.
- Supervise and support Reservations Agents to ensure accurate and timely processing of bookings.
- Monitor reservations, amendments, cancellations, no-shows and special requests.
- Ensure all reservations are accurately entered and maintained in the PMS.
- Review VIP, corporate, group and special-occasion reservations.
- Ensure reservation requests and guest enquiries are responded to promptly.
- Monitor room blocks, group bookings and rooming lists.
- Ensure proper application of hotel policies relating to deposits, guarantees, cancellations and credit.
- Handle complex reservation issues and escalated guest enquiries professionally.
- Promote upselling and cross-selling opportunities to maximize revenue per booking.
2. Revenue Management
- Support the Revenue Manager in implementing the hotel's revenue and pricing strategy.
- Monitor daily occupancy, ADR, RevPAR, room revenue and booking pace.
- Analyze pickup, booking trends, cancellations and future demand.
- Assist with dynamic pricing based on demand, seasonality, market conditions and hotel occupancy.
- Monitor room availability and recommend rate or inventory adjustments.
- Assist in implementing restrictions such as CTA, CTD, MinLOS and Stop Sell when required.
- Identify opportunities to maximize occupancy and room yield.
- Assist with forecasting and preparation of weekly and monthly revenue projections.
- Monitor actual performance against forecast, budget and previous-year performance.
3. Distribution & Channel Management
- Monitor room rates and availability across Brand.com, OTAs, GDS, wholesalers and other distribution channels.
- Ensure rate parity and accurate room/rate information across all channels.
- Monitor channel production, booking volume, cancellation trends and revenue contribution.
- Assist with inventory allocation and optimization across distribution channels.
- Coordinate with e-commerce/distribution partners regarding rate, availability and content issues.
- Monitor promotional campaigns and ensure correct loading and implementation of offers.
4. Market & Competitor Analysis
- Monitor competitor hotels rates, promotions, packages and market positioning.
- Track market demand, seasonality, local events and major citywide activities affecting hotel demand.
- Assist in identifying opportunities to increase occupancy, ADR, RevPAR and market share.
- Review available benchmarking and market intelligence reports.
- Provide recommendations to management based on market and competitor analysis.
5. Reporting & Analysis
Prepare and review daily, weekly and monthly reports, including:
- Occupancy and room revenue reports
- ADR and RevPAR reports
- Pickup and pace reports
- Forecast reports
- Booking source/channel production
- Cancellation and no-show analysis
- Reservation conversion reports
- Market and competitor analysis
- Budget versus actual performance
6. Team Supervision & Development
- Supervise, coach and support Reservations team members.
- Allocate daily responsibilities according to business requirements.
- Monitor team productivity, reservation accuracy and response times.
- Conduct training on hotel products, room types, rates, promotions and selling techniques.
- Support performance evaluations and identify training requirements.
- Encourage upselling, conversion and revenue-focused behaviors.
- Maintain professional service standards and teamwork within the department.
7. Cross-Department Coordination
- Work closely with Sales & Marketing on corporate, group, leisure and promotional business.
- Coordinate with Front Office regarding room availability, VIP arrivals, upgrades and special requests.
- Liaise with Housekeeping regarding room status and inventory availability.
- Coordinate with Finance regarding deposits, billing instructions, commissions and credit issues.
- Participate in daily revenue meetings and commercial strategy discussions.
- Communicate changes in rates, restrictions, promotions and inventory to relevant departments.

Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Hospitality Management, Hotel Management, Business Administration, Revenue Management or a related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years of hotel experience, preferably in Reservations, Revenue Management or Rooms Division.
- Previous supervisory or Assistant Manager-level experience in a hotel environment is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of hotel reservations and revenue management principles.
- Experience with Opera PMS or equivalent hotel PMS is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of RMS, channel managers, CRS, OTA and GDS platforms is an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and hotel reporting systems.
- Experience in a 4- or 5-star hotel environment is preferred.
