Assist in preventive and corrective maintenance of electrical systems including lighting systems, power outlets, distribution boards, control panels, and building electrical services.
Support routine inspections of electrical equipment and report defects, abnormalities, and safety concerns.
Assist in cleaning, tightening, and servicing electrical components and equipment as instructed.
Help maintain electrical plant rooms, distribution boards, and service areas in a clean and safe condition.
Troubleshooting & Repairs
Assist Electrical Technicians in identifying and rectifying electrical faults.
Support replacement of lamps, ballasts, LED drivers, switches, sockets, breakers, contactors, relays, and other electrical accessories.
Assist in attending emergency breakdown calls and restoration of electrical services.
Use basic electrical tools and testing equipment under supervision.
Installation & Minor Works
Assist in cable pulling, cable dressing, cable termination preparation, conduit installation, trunking works, and equipment mounting.
Support installation and replacement of lighting fixtures, power outlets, isolators, and electrical accessories.
Assist in minor electrical modification and refurbishment works.
Help transport, organize, and prepare materials and tools required for maintenance activities.
Building Services Support
Assist in maintenance activities related to HVAC electrical systems, pumps, motors, water heaters, generators, UPS systems, and other MEP equipment.
Support testing and inspection activities for emergency lighting and backup power systems.
Coordinate with technicians and supervisors during planned shutdowns and maintenance activities.
Safety & Compliance
Follow all electrical safety procedures, permit-to-work systems, lockout/tagout (LOTO) requirements, and company HSE policies.
Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Maintain good housekeeping standards in work areas and electrical rooms.
Immediately report unsafe conditions, incidents, and near misses to supervisors.
Documentation & Reporting
Assist in completing maintenance checklists and service records.
Report material shortages, spare part requirements, and equipment defects.
Support asset inspections and maintenance documentation activities.
Qualifications
ITI, Trade Certificate, or Technical Qualification in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Trade.
Basic understanding of electrical maintenance practices and safety procedures.
Experience
1–3 years of experience in electrical maintenance, building maintenance, construction, or Facilities Management services.
Experience in commercial, residential, healthcare, hospitality, or government facilities is preferred.
Skills & Competencies
Basic knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, and building services.
Ability to use common electrical hand tools and basic testing equipment.
Understanding of electrical safety practices and PPE requirements.
Ability to work effectively under supervision and as part of a maintenance team.
Good communication and willingness to learn.
Physically fit to work in indoor and outdoor environments.
Preferred Experience
Exposure to Facilities Management contracts and building maintenance operations.
Familiarity with LV electrical systems, lighting systems, power distribution equipment, and MEP maintenance activities.
Basic knowledge of generators, UPS systems, emergency lighting, and HVAC electrical controls.
