The project:

Mace has been appointed to partner on a new portfolio of work focusing on the events industry in KSA. Our client intends to build cutting-edge venues to host world-class events in the culture, entertainment and sports sectors.

The associate construction director will support the delivery director in managing all aspects of construction delivery for large-scale building projects. This role is hands-on, ensuring projects meet safety, quality, cost, programme, and sustainability objectives, while coordinating with stakeholders and leading site operations.

You'll be responsible for:

  • Manage day-to-day construction activities, ensuring compliance with programme milestones and quality standards.

  • Oversee site operations, contractor performance, and resolution of delivery challenges.

  • Support pre-contract activities including tendering, bid evaluation, and constructability reviews.

  • Ensure robust governance, reporting, and adherence to contractual obligations.

  • Drive safety leadership and champion Mace's Safety First culture across all sites.

  • Monitor project performance metrics and escalate risks or delays promptly.

  • Coordinate with design, commercial, and procurement teams to maintain delivery efficiency.

  • Foster strong relationships with clients, contractors, and consultants to ensure smooth delivery.

  • Embed best practice through Mace Way, Centres of Excellence, and digital delivery tools.

  • Support sustainability and carbon reduction initiatives throughout the project lifecycle.

You'll need to have:

  • Proven experience in delivering large-scale building projects such as arenas, stadiums, or exhibition centres.

  • Strong construction technical background with expertise in site operations and buildability.

  • Experience in pre-contract activities including tendering and procurement strategy.

  • Membership of RICS, CIOB, APM, ICE or equivalent professional accreditation.

  • Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills.

  • Knowledge of sustainability and carbon considerations shaping future projects.
