The project:

Mace has been appointed to partner on a new portfolio of work focusing on the events industry in KSA. Our client intends to build cutting-edge venues to host world-class events in the culture, entertainment and sports sectors.

The associate construction director will take a hands-on leadership role in managing all aspects of construction delivery, with a strong focus on MEP systems while maintaining oversight of other building elements. This role requires a proactive, solution-driven individual who can lead site operations, resolve technical challenges, and ensure integration across all disciplines.

You'll be responsible for:

  • Act as deputy to the delivery director, supporting overall construction delivery while leading MEP strategy and execution.

  • Manage MEP works from design development through procurement, installation, testing, and commissioning, ensuring seamless integration with architectural and structural elements.

  • Be actively present on-site to oversee installation, monitor progress, and resolve technical and coordination issues across all trades.

  • Ensure compliance with programme milestones, quality standards, and safety requirements for all building systems.

  • Review constructability and prefabrication strategies for MEP and other trades to optimize delivery efficiency.

  • Support pre-contract activities including tendering, bid evaluation, and technical scope reviews for both MEP and general construction packages.

  • Drive risk management across all disciplines, including change control and mitigation of delays or defects.

  • Champion innovation in building services engineering while maintaining a holistic approach to overall construction delivery.

  • Maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships, acting as a trusted technical authority for MEP and integrated building systems.

You'll need to have:

  • Proven experience in delivering large-scale building projects (arenas, stadiums, exhibition centres) with complex MEP systems.

  • Advanced technical knowledge of building services engineering, including installation, testing, and prefabrication best practices.

  • Strong understanding of other technical trades and construction sequencing for effective coordination.

  • Experience in pre-contract activities including tendering and procurement strategy.

  • Membership of RICS, CIOB, CIBSE, APM, ICE or equivalent professional accreditation.

  • Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills.

  • Knowledge of sustainability and carbon considerations in MEP and overall building delivery.
