Associate Director/Director - Financial Services

The Role

We are looking to for an Associate Director and Director to join Flint's expanding financial services team within our Asia-Pacific team. The roles is based in Singapore and will support Flint Financial Services clients across the region. At a time of significant political and policy change, successful candidates will have a unique opportunity to support the continuing development of Flint's business in this area and work on an exciting array of complex policy and regulatory issues for our clients.

This will involve working closely with senior team members across Flint to advise financial services clients on public policy, politics, regulation, and commercial strategy. Our clients include asset managers, banks, financial market infrastructure (FMI) companies, fintechs and other financial institutions as well as alternatives, portfolio companies and corporates. The financial services team works across Flint's APAC offices and our international offices in London (HQ) and EU with our advice often covering multiple jurisdictions.

This role requires deep financial sector knowledge, excellent communication and people skills, strong project management abilities, and a proven record in client relationship management. You would play a key role in delivering client work, supporting business development, and leading and mentoring junior colleagues.

As an Associate Director/Director, you will:

• Lead and deliver high-quality advisory projects for clients in the financial services sector, focusing on public policy, regulatory strategy to support commercial and other objectives.
• Support business development activities, including contributing to proposals, client presentations, and thought leadership, in collaboration with Partners and Directors.
• Manage and nurture client relationships, acting as a trusted adviser to senior stakeholders across Asia-Pacific, while ensuring efficient and high-quality client delivery.
• Provide strategic leadership and oversight by refining deliverables to maximise the value Flint delivers to clients; think strategically to support clients in achieving their commercial and other goals.
• Mentor and develop junior team members, fostering a collaborative and high performance culture.
• Ensure effective project management, resource allocation, and delivery of client engagements.
• Take responsibility for client account administration and verse budgeting and financial oversight of individual accounts and projects.
• Provide regular feedback, coaching, and contribute to performance reviews for team members.
• Contribute to internal thought leadership, including Flint-wide marketing materials and knowledge sharing.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance team efficiency.
• Engage in strategic relationship-building activities to support business development and generate leads.

Who we are looking for

Our ideal candidate will have:

• Significant experience (typically 6+ years for Associate Director and 10+ years for Director) working in Asia-Pacific markets and in financial services policy fields such as banking, asset management, pensions, payments, fintech, crypto, insurance, with a demonstrated ability to advise on complex regulatory and policy challenges in these areas.
• Deep understanding of policy, regulatory, and commercial issues shaping the financial services sector in the region.
• A strong professional background in government, a regulator, consultancy, think tank, financial services firms or industry body in managerial positions.
• A proven track recordof managing projects and leading project teams in a fast-paced, delivery-focussed environments.
• Proven ability to manage senior client relationships and deliver high-impact projects in Asia-Pacific.
• Commercial acumen, with the ability to develop new business opportunities and deliver commercially viable solutions to clients.
• Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to provide clear, concise advice to senior stakeholders, both in written and verbal forms.
• A collaborative leadership style, with a passion for mentoring and developing talent within the organisation.
• Experience and understanding of financial services policy issues in an EU context is desirable but not essential.
• Fluency in English is required; proficiency in regional languages (Mandarin, Korean, Japanese, etc) is not essential but would be an advantage.
• Right to work in Singapore is preferred
