Job Description

About the Role:

ACWA is seeking an experienced Associate Finance Manager to manage accounting and treasury operations in Egypt. This is a hands-on role where the candidate will actively manage day-to-day financial operations, including reporting, cash flow management, taxes, and internal controls, while also providing leadership and supervision for finance teams.

The ideal candidate will have international qualifications or Big Four experience, with a background in energy, infrastructure, construction, or similar sectors. This position is operational in nature, requiring strong practical expertise as well as leadership capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare monthly financial closings, reconciliations, and consolidated financial statements.
  • Manage cash flow, ensuring sufficient liquidity and forecasting future financial needs.
  • Oversee payments and receipts for the company and holding entities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Ensure compliance with IFRS / International Financial Reporting Standards, specifically IFRS 9, 12, and 16.
  • Handle tax obligations including corporate tax, VAT, and withholding taxes, ensuring compliance with local and international regulations.
  • Implement and monitor internal controls and support internal audit processes.
  • Coordinate with banks, auditors, shareholders, and external partners.
  • Identify and execute process improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with internal and external auditors during audits.
  • Perform other finance-related tasks as assigned by management.

Requirements / Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum 8 years in finance, accounting, or auditing; experience in a hands-on operational role and/or team leadership is required. Big Four experience is preferred.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
  • Languages: Fluent in English and Arabic (spoken and written).
  • Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables).
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar).
  • Familiarity with financial reporting tools and dashboards.

Desired Competencies / Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of IFRS 9, 12, 16.
  • Hands-on cash flow management expertise.
  • Expertise in tax compliance and planning.
  • Experience in monthly financial planning and reporting.
  • Strong knowledge of internal controls and audit procedures.
  • Analytical, detail-oriented, and results-driven.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
