Job Description

Associate – Fund Regulatory & Business Development (India/GIFT City)

UAE (Abu Dhabi/Dubai) | Regular travel to India

About the role

An ADGM-regulated asset manager is expanding into India through a new fund management entity (FME) in GIFT City, alongside a growing UAE funds business. We're hiring an associate to support both. About half the role is regulatory documentation and compliance. The other half is building distribution relationships across India. You will also act as interim compliance officer of the GIFT City FME until a full-time officer is appointed.

You'll report directly to the COO on operations and compliance, and to the CEO on business development.

What you'll do

India and GIFT City: regulatory and compliance

  • Support the FME incorporation and IFSCA registration, including applications, documentation and regulator correspondence
  • Act as interim compliance officer of the FME, covering filings, policies, monitoring and reporting
  • Coordinate with Indian legal counsel, trustees, administrators and auditors
  • Track IFSCA and SEBI developments relevant to the business

India: business development

  • Map and approach national and regional distributors, wealth managers and asset managers
  • Arrange and attend senior-level meetings, and manage selected distributor relationships
  • Prepare pitch materials, follow up and complete distributor onboarding
  • Maintain the distribution pipeline and report on progress

UAE: funds platform and feeder funds

  • Manage documentation for onboarding third-party fund managers to our funds platform
  • Prepare fund setup documentation with legal counsel and service providers
  • Support offering documents and master-feeder documentation for feeder funds
  • Handle onboarding paperwork with UAE distributor banks

What you'll bring

  • +3 years (minimum) at an Indian trustee company, AMC, AIF, fund administrator or regulated financial institution, with hands-on fund documentation and compliance experience
  • A qualification (e.g. CS, law degree, CA or equivalent) that makes you eligible as compliance officer of a GIFT City FME under the IFSCA (Fund Management) Regulations
  • Working knowledge of the GIFT City/IFSCA framework and SEBI regulations
  • An existing network among Indian distributors, wealth managers or asset managers
  • Excellent drafting, organisation and attention to detail
  • Willingness to be UAE-based and travel to India regularly
  • A likeable personality with a high level of emotional intelligence

Nice to have

  • Exposure to UAE fund regimes (ADGM/FSRA, DIFC/DFSA, SCA)
  • Experience with feeder funds, fund platforms or cross-border fund distribution
  • IFSCA-specified certifications
  • UAE funds experience is a plus, not a requirement. We'll teach you the UAE side.

Why join

A high-impact role in a regulated, fast-growing asset manager spanning the UAE and India. You'll have direct access to senior leadership and a clear path toward compliance or distribution leadership.
