Associate General Counsel

Our client, a leading multinational technology organisation, is seeking an experienced legal professional to join its regional legal team. This is a senior leadership role supporting business operations across multiple jurisdictions within Asia Pacific.

Reporting to the senior legal leadership team, you will act as a trusted advisor to business stakeholders, providing strategic legal guidance on commercial matters, compliance initiatives, and risk management while supporting business growth objectives.

• Provide legal advice on a broad range of commercial and corporate matters across the region.
• Review, draft and negotiate complex commercial agreements with customers, partners, vendors and strategic stakeholders.
• Partner closely with business leaders to identify and mitigate legal and commercial risks while enabling business objectives.
• Support the implementation and enhancement of legal processes, governance frameworks and operational efficiencies across the legal function.
• Drive compliance initiatives relating to anti-bribery and corruption, competition law, trade compliance, sanctions, data protection and other regulatory requirements.
• Manage contractual obligations, disputes and claims where required.
• Lead and mentor legal team members while fostering collaboration across regional and global teams.
• Work closely with external counsel and internal stakeholders on strategic projects and regulatory matters.
  
  

• Qualified lawyer with a valid practising qualification in a recognised jurisdiction.
• At least 10 years of post-qualification legal experience gained from a combination of reputable private practice and in-house environments.
• Strong experience advising on commercial transactions, contract negotiations and legal risk management.
• Exposure to technology, software, SaaS, intellectual property and/or data privacy matters would be advantageous.
• Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and operate effectively within a complex multinational environment.
• Strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
• Demonstrated experience leading projects, driving process improvements and managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
