ROLE SUMMARY
The Associate Manager – Account Management is responsible for driving the growth and success of MAF Retail's Marketplace business through seller acquisition, onboarding, and account development. Working closely with internal and external stakeholders, the role holder will identify, engage, negotiate, and onboard high-potential sellers within assigned categories while building long-term commercial partnerships that enhance assortment, drive GMV growth & improve competitiveness.
ROLE PROFILE
- Drive seller acquisition and marketplace expansion by identifying, engaging, negotiating, and onboarding high-potential sellers aligned with category growth objectives and assortment gaps.
- Build and manage a strong seller pipeline through proactive sourcing, networking, referrals, field engagement, and structured funnel management to ensure a continuous flow of quality partners.
- Lead end-to-end partner onboarding by coordinating with Operations, Technology, Logistics, Legal, and other cross-functional teams to ensure successful and timely seller go-live.
- Strengthen partner performance and operational excellence by ensuring compliance with quality standards, service levels, pricing competitiveness, product availability, and customer experience expectations.
- Manage seller relationships and business growth through regular performance reviews, identifying improvement opportunities, and implementing initiatives that drive GMV, assortment growth, and profitability.
- Leverage data and insights to optimize category performance, monitoring key marketplace metrics and recommending actions to improve sales, conversion, operational efficiency, and partner success.
- Act as the voice of marketplace partners internally, proactively resolving issues, escalating risks, and collaborating with stakeholders to enhance partner experience and operational effectiveness.
- Promote a culture of ownership, collaboration, and accountability by adhering to company policies, maintaining clear communication across teams, and contributing to continuous business and process improvement.
REQUIREMENTS
- Deliver marketplace growth and business impact by building a strong seller pipeline, onboarding high-quality partners, expanding category assortment, and driving sustainable GMV growth.
- Optimize seller performance and experience through efficient onboarding processes, strong partner engagement, high satisfaction levels, retention, and continuous business development initiatives.
- Leverage data and technology effectively using advanced Excel skills, CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce, Zoho), marketplace tools, and data-driven insights to support decision-making and performance improvements.
- Bring strong academic and professional expertise, with a Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Sales, or a related field, preferably supported by a Master's degree, alongside 5+ years of relevant experience including e-commerce or marketplace envirorment.
- Demonstrate commercial acumen and execution excellence through strong negotiation, project management, analytical, and stakeholder management skills, while effectively balancing multiple priorities and business objectives.
- Exhibit an ownership mindset and leadership qualities by communicating effectively, thriving in ambiguous environments, driving results proactively, fostering collaboration, and taking accountability for business outcomes.
