Associate Product Manager Planning

Designation: Associate Product Manager

Location: Bangalore

We are looking for a sharp, data-first APM who can dive deep into planning data, find where the leakages are, and work closely with operations to fix them. This is a hands-on role: you will spend a good part of your time in SQL and Python, and the rest with warehouse, procurement and category teams turning insights into actual improvements.

Responsibilities, aka, what we'd like you to deliver :

-Analytics and Problem Discovery (Core Focus)

• Analyse large datasets (orders, inventory, POs, GRNs, stock transfers, wastage) using SQL and Python to identify leakages across availability, DOH and expiry
• Build a deep understanding of why availability drops or stock expires: forecasting errors, vendor delays, parameter misconfiguration, warehouse bottlenecks, store-level constraints
• Create and maintain dashboards, alerts and reports that give planning and operations teams reliable visibility
• Run root-cause analyses on availability misses, high DOH pockets and expiry spikes, and quantify the impact in ₹ terms

-Product and Process Improvement

• Work with the PM to translate findings into product and system improvements: planning logic, parameters, thresholds, rules and automation
• Write clear problem statements and simple PRDs for changes to planning algorithms and tools
• Support forecasting and replenishment model improvements alongside data science and engineering

-Operational Partnership

• Work closely with warehouse, darkstore, procurement, category and vendor teams to understand ground realities and constraints
• Visit warehouses and stores when needed to see how things actually work
• Get hands dirty when required: manual analysis, data cleanups, follow-ups, firefighting during critical periods, and validating system outputs against ground truth
• Drive adoption of process and tool changes with ops teams

What We're Looking For:

• Strong SQL: comfortable with complex joins, window functions, CTEs and query optimisation on large datasets
• Strong Python: hands-on with pandas, numpy and visualisation libraries for analysis and automation; exposure to basic statistics or forecasting is a plus
• Analytical mindset: you break down ambiguous problems, form hypotheses, and go to the data to prove or disprove them
• Ownership and bias to action: you are not afraid of grunt work and will dig through messy data or spend a day on the warehouse floor to get to the truth
• Clear communication: able to explain a data insight simply to ops teams and senior stakeholders
• 1–3 years of experience in analytics, business analysis, supply chain, or a similar role (exceptional freshers with relevant internships or projects may be considered)
• Bachelor's degree, preferably in Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics or a related quantitative field

Growth Path

Your first phase will be data-heavy: becoming the go-to person for planning analytics and problem discovery. Over time, you will be groomed to:

• Own problem statements and write PRDs end to end
• Own specific planning modules or verticals (for example, FMCG replenishment or perishables)
• Drive roadmap prioritisation and stakeholder alignment
• Grow into a Product Manager owning a part of the planning product
